Great product, available at a good price now

  • Excerpt: I purchased the Humax 9200T PVR (Personal Video Recorder) about two years ago, for the bargain price of £160, online. It's revolutionised TV watching, it's been so useful to be able to record programmes and watch them when you fancy, and to rapidly fast forward through adverts, or pause when the phone or doorbell goes.
  • Pros: Reliability

Best Freeview box around, and well worth the cash

  • Excerpt: I ordered Sky+ back in December 2007, but due to our home being located on a listed road, we were unable to install the dish :( This resulted in us canceling the order, and the hunt for a hard drive freeview box began. We first spent £80 on a another HDD freeview box, and the quality was terrible and that was returned the following day. I read a couple of reviews on the 9200TB, and couldn't find many at the time.

  • Summary: After reading a negative review I wanted to comment and disagree. The picture quality from the Humax both live and recorded is amazing. The flexibility in recording preferences, series linking are great and generally the entire experience of the humax has been nothing but good. I would comment that the interface could use a little work but in reality after a few days you're used to it and it makes no odds to the overall use of the device.
  • Pros: Recording, Series Link, Picture Quality, Everything
  • Cons: Interface

  • Excerpt: Humax Duovisio PVR 9200 TB I had been looking for a Freeview H/D recorder for a few weeks, as there are a few things that I required it to do, it took a lot of looking. Easy recording with an EPG (Electronic Program Guide), fast forward and of course rewind, subtitles recorded with the program, in fact everything that a Skybox can do.

Useful and easy to use.

  • Excerpt: I bought a set top digibox from Top Up TV. Its a Thompson DV3 Digital terrestrial treceiver and recorder. This box is a similar size to the Sky boxes but more sleek in design. It has a nicely shaped, curved front and comes in dark gray and silver. This boxes plugs into the mains and you attach your TV aerial to it. You need a modern aerial that is capable of receiver Channel 5 if you want to get good reception on digital.

Humax Pvr 9200T Freeview Dtv Receiver 100-HOURS Video Recorder Review

  • Excerpt: PVRs are out of this world compared with video recorders. Humax are the best. Since the recent software update the 9200 (very similar to the later more stylish 9150) now fully loads the EPG in 20-30 seconds. All the usual PVR functions, plus (things you won''t find on most other PVRs): Great search facilities, e.g. search for programmes in the EPG by a string in the title, search by genre.
  • Pros: Far more advanced but no more expensive than most other makes
  • Cons: Would be nice to file recorded programmes into sub-directories

  • Summary: I researched the Humax PVR-9200T well before buying one. Ignore the guff that a few people have said about it. Buy one and you will be amazed, it will change the way you use your TV forever. Since you will no doubt catch every programme you want to record, you will sit down to the actual recordings and the only live TV you will then see will be when actually choosing the next programmes for recording from the Humax's superb programme guide (which shows programmes a week...
  • Pros: Clear playback and the way you actually set the unit to record, it's so very easy and equally easy to cancel should you change your mind
  • Cons: Just one very minor critiscism - it's so easy to set it to record a programme and the unit allows you se and set programs days in advance, you will
