Works great for digitizing 8MM tapes

V_Capture, B&H Photo
28 March 2014
  • Excerpt: I bought this box for converting my 8mm tapes to digital format. The product worked well out of the box. It was easy to setup. There are options to convert at highest frame rate, but this does create large size files.
  • Pros: Works Outside The Box
  • Cons: There Is A 3 Sec Delay

Amazing recorder

Kevin H. Coon, Amazon
25 February 2014
  • Summary: I had the HD PVR 1 and let me tell you, this is the perfect upgrade for capturing with HDMI. I used to hate switching between HDMI and HD cables to record my things so this is perfect if you live in this decade and play/record with HDMI. I have had this for a couple months now with absolutely no issues. I use it with my Xbox 360 but have not tried it with Playstation or the Xbox One yet.

Once connected with HDMI to PS3 ... wonderful

Original Vidiot, Amazon
20 February 2014
  • Summary: What an ordeal getting a PVR that works the way you need it. I first bought the Avermedia unit because I didn't like the idea of always needing to have a PC or laptop connected in order to record game replays. It was quickly returned because it didn't function at all right out of the box. It required an update to function and it required a certain process based on a series of menu options in order to update.

I'm not a gamer but I bought this anyway 'cause it's perfect for downloading content from DVRs

W. Josephson, Amazon
13 February 2014
  • Summary: I bought this because I have HD content (primarily basketball & football games) on the Cisco DVRs that were supplied by my cable company & I wanted to retain permanent copies in as high a quality as possible. Digital content protection issues mean that capturing HDMI output is next to impossible so, prior to my purchase of the PVR 2, I was recording by sending my DVR's composite video (yellow RCA plug) output through a digital convertor & then on to a MacBook Pro.

User Review

RRadio, Walmart
22 January 2014
  • Summary: Pretty simple to hook up, comes with most of the cables you'll need to do recordings in HD (I only had to supply one HDMI cable myself, which I already had). The software was simple to install and is rather straight forward to use, the only minor issue would be if you want to record live commentary through your microphone.

Great quality with Windows 7 and 3rd gen Intel i7

Mike, Amazon
14 January 2014
  • Summary: I first tried with my daughter's AMD A8 and Windows 8, and there were a lot of artifacts regardless of the quality settings. I then tried it on my work laptop with Windows 7 Pro and a 3rd gen i7 and the video was crystal clear. I plan to get my own laptop with Windows 7 (because I hate 8) and an Intel CPU for video capture.
