Excerpt: I bought this to record movies in standard TS or MP4 format that can be played on any computer or HDTV (unlike my other DVR), but I almost sent it back because I couldn't get it to work. The Software would not install properly on my Windows XP computer.
Great hardware for people that can figure out the quirks.

Summary: First of all, I have to say that the PVR does what it should, and if you are willing to take the time to figure out how to correctly set everything up, it will do the job. It took me the longest time to get AC3 5.1 audio to work through the HDMI.
Excerpt: I use this device to live stream events for a client of mine from my Canon XF100 camera. It works well once you figure out how to get it set up correctly, but getting there is a little tricky.
Summary: The Hauppauge HD PVR 2, exceeded my expectations on performance and compatibility. The installation was quick and easy, the program had a simple layout too. I had originally purchased this just for recording my PS4 and Wii U consoles, but has proved to work with most of my older consoles.
After initial pain, getting the advertised benefits.

Summary: I give the technology development the 4 stars. Once you can get it working, you get what you paid for and maybe a little more. But it was quite an adventure for me to get it all working. So I give the initial user experience 1-2 stars (installation, ease of use).
Excerpt: This is a very interesting piece of equipment, which I bought to record some programs from my DVR (it seems I record more than I watch, so eventually I run out of space). The PVR was a little cranky at first and setup wasn't quite as straightforward as I would have liked, but eventually I was able...
Summary: Overall this device met my expectations. Installation was pretty painless, although on first launch it told me an improved driver was available so I downloaded it (and the capture software). I spent a day capturing video from my XBox 360, and got pretty decent results.
