Excerpt: Before 2010, all the Ys series was just another unpronounceable (Eees, by the way) Japanese RPG series that I'd heard of once or twice and had never made a splash here in the states. I also knew that less than half of the series ever made it to the U.S., and was about as interested in it as I was all the other games that one or two out of every hundred gamers high praise for.
Summary: Ys: The Oath in Felghana once again follows the adventures of friends Adol and Dogi who find themselves making an unannounced visit to Dogi’s hometown of Redmont in the land of Felghana. Since his departure eight years earlier, Dogi finds himself returning home to find that things have changed dramatically, and not for the better.
Excerpt: Just to set the record straight, I am a neophyte in the world of Falcom's games, specifically the Ys series that has gained a cult following since its debut in 1987. The series has had numerous ports across multiple consoles, and I have played none of them.
