Review — WTF aka Work Time Fun

videolamer
6 July 2007
  • Conclusion: Work Time Fun lives up to its acronym. It is an extremely odd and very Japanese game. The minigames are pointless and boring like many real world jobs. You also occasionally get emails via the in-game email system from your friends, telling you how miserable they are. The email system will also send you spam like any virtual computer network worth its salt. I encourage people to play WTF just for the Japanese flavor and the creative twist it adds to games like Warioware.

He needs all the energy he can digest in preparation for what his strange line of work requires of him. His occupation? Professional oddjobber. You see, Mr. WTF doesn’t know what the day has in store for him.

  • Excerpt: Here's one way to make an ass out of you and your umption: make the assumption that PSP owners a) get off on the lewd and low-brow, b) don't know shinola from a hole in the ground, and c) have nothing better to spend their money on. Like a roll of toilet paper. WTF?

WTF: Work Time Fun

Playstation Illustrated
21 December 2006
  • Excerpt: WTF: Work Time Fun is a strange mix between Wario Ware and that old wacky PS1 game, Incredible Crisis , but somehow misses the mark and comes off as more of a chore than actual fun. Graphics are an interesting topic for this game because there is no uniform style in the game. Instead, each job has its own look and feel, which can leave you feeling a bit disjointed at first, but after six mini-games or so, you get used to the drastic differences.

  • Excerpt: When a game is called WTF, a certain “What the...” phrase comes to mind. That phrase is also a very good way to explain what WTF is all about. WTF: Work Time Fun is one of those titles from Japan that would have never seen the light of day in North America years ago. But now a large majority of gamers, outside of Japan, can now appreciate the wackiness that titles like WTF delivers.

  • Conclusion: There is a market for this game out there and I'm sure many of you are interested in a title like Wario Ware for the PSP. My suggestion is that you rent it first to see if it's your thing. I personally came looking for greatness but walked away with nothing but disappointment and a sore thumb.

[Mini-Review] WTF: Work Time Fun

TotalPlayStation.com
26 October 2006
  • Conclusion: It's possible that this will end up being the high end of the scores for the game -- and Lord knows it could have gone lower, but in the midst of realizing I'd wasted as much time as I did playing, I remembered too that, for a time, I had fun doing it.

WTF: Work Time Fun

Defunct Games
17 October 2006
  • Summary: It may not be the deepest game on the planet, but WTF proves to be both bizarre and lovable at the same time. Just when you think you've seen the strangest thing, you play another mini-game that will make your jaw jet open. It's good clean fun for a budget price, and that's why WTF is such a compelling PSP game. Tweet This product was submitted by the publisher for review.
