Summary: I downloaded a demo of this game off of the Playstation Network to try it and see if it was any good. The Demo Was great just with the one racer and track you got. Getting the full version made it even greater. The are at least 6 different types of races that you can play. Including Single Race, Zone, Time Trial, Elimination and a couple more. There are 4 different speed classes to play. Slow to Fast.
Summary: Pros: - Visuals far exceed Wipeout Pure and frame rates are very impressive. A shining example of what can be accomplished on the PSP if you have a great development team. - 24 tracks - Downloadable and customizable skins Cons: - Later levels are punishingly difficult. - In the fastest levels (Phantom) there are sometimes collision detection errors and as a result you collide thru the track even though you shouldn't.
Not as good as its predessecor but an excellent PSP game

Excerpt: Set in the future, with high speed and excellent track designs, WipEout Pulse sets out to thrill the player in every single way. Sequel to the much loved WipEout Pure, Pulse puts a new feeling of WipEout into the player's hand. There are three main modes in Pulse: Campaign, Race box and Multiplayer. There are a number of new weapons introduced into Pulse to keep things new and fresh, especially for existing players.
Overall, this is a great game. If you like racing games, you need this one in your collection!

Excerpt: A piece of advice. Do not play this game with the volume on whilst in public. Trust me on this one! I bought Wipeout Pulse to keep me amused on a particulary long train journey from London to Glasgow. I've played the Wipeout series of games before, mainly on the Playstation and Playstation 2, so I was keen to see test out a portable version of the game.
Conclusion: this game is great. i havent played many of the other wipeout series so when i bought this 1 it was my 1st time wiv this type of format. many of the races are great and there are a good variety of circuits. also, there are loads of races so you won't get easily bored. i would give this game 5 stars apart from 2 things. firstly i feel there are far too many time trials and speed laps, which i feel are repetitive and frankly boring. the other issue is the Phantom levels.
WipEout Pure to WipEout Pulse, more than 3 letters difference?

Summary: I was hesitant to buy this product since i already owned WipEout Pure for the PSP and many reviews said that this game was too similar to Pure. I have found that this game is less of a seconed WipEout and more of an improved version of WipEout Pure. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone who has owned and enjoyed WipEout Pure, this game is different enough to be worth your £20!
Summary: I liked this game a lot when I first got it, great racing, neat concept, spacey music. The pluses for the game are that the graphics are great and the play is definitely challenging. If you like racing at break-neck speed with split second reaction times this game is worth getting. My only issue with the game is that the number of tracks is limited and the game doesn't change much as you play on.
Excerpt: Having recently playyed the PSP conversion of the original Wipeout game, i was worried that this game would be just as poor. However, this is a brilliant racing game for sonys portable system. Being a massive racing fan, i think this game is good for those seeking something a little more fun.
Summary: I think this game is great fun - being a avid wipeout fan thats not surprising - well, there have been wipeout games that were pretty poor (the firs ps2 one for example). This is essentially the same engine as wipeout pure - the graphics have been jazzed up - alot more detail, funner weapons, amazing sound effects - much more apt for whats going on on screen. Im not up to the phantom league yet but so far ive not notcied any slow-down (which happened in w pure).
