Summary: Anybody looking for a Strategy RPG in the vein of Final Fantasy Tactics or Jeanne D Arc, look no further. Wild Arms XF is a highly enjoyable tactics based rpg. The gameplay is very similar to other titles in its genre. The are 4 categories in the gameplay department: World Map, Towns, Menus and Battle. The World Map allows you to move between locations or battles. However unlike its predecessors, there are no random battles.
Summary: I am not normally a fan of SRPGs, but the way it uses the HEX system this time around is done very well. The pacing of the game-play is just right, at the same time retaining a lot of strategy to keep you thinking. I am also impressed with the characters, and soundtrack for the game. For anyone who is a fan of both Japanese and English voice acting, the game is dual-audio. Definitely a worthy installment to the series.
Summary: If you're a fan of the Wild Arms series, you should be very clear that this is a Turn-Based Strategy game or SRPG, very different to the other games in the series. Having said that, I am a fan of the other WA games and I also like strategy games, so I really enjoyed this. The story and characters are just as likeable and complex as in the main series and the soundtrack is so awesome that it rivals WA5 in my opinion.
