Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth is a video game which was released in the world market in 1999 for the first time. The new versions hit the market again in 2000, 2006 and in the year 2007. Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth was developed by tri-Ace. Enix was the publisher of this game. The genre of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth is role playing game. The role playing is of consoling nature. The game is played in single player mode.
The plot of the game is about being a Valkyrie. It is set in Norse mythology. The Valkyrie not only finds the recruits the souls of old warriors, but also of her own past. The game is set in Midgard. The combat is interesting. The points earned in one level are used by the character in the next level to get equipment.
The gameplay, however, is what defined the game when it was released years ago. During battle, each of the four party members are assigned to one of the face buttons. When the corresponding button is pressed, the character it is assigned to attacks the targeted enemy. As each character has a different rate of attack, timing is crucial during battles, since a poorly timed button press can mean a string of misses. VP: Lenneth is well worth the amount of money I spent to purchase the game the week it came out. I am glad that I am able to experience this game when it was nearly impossible to do such a thing for the past few years. For being one of the rarest PSOne games, it’s almost a steal to have it available at a normal price point. Read more
For hardcore fans, though — and really, this is a game intended for the fans more than anything else — this game is a disappointment. To be frank, this game would be a 9/10 for anyone who isn't a huge fan or someone who hasn't played the original. I just find the problems that are present in this version so glaring that I can't bring myself to mark it any higher. I still bought a personal copy — to show you my point — but I just can't help but be utterly disappointed... Read more
If you're into old school RPGs and missed this one in 2000, DON'T miss it now. It was a minor crime that Valkyrie Profile didn't get more recognition as it got swept under the rug of “Forget Playstation, PS2 is THE FUTURE!” and this is a big, bold step in redressing that. It is also a nice backgrounder for the upcoming sequel on the PS2, which, this time around, is enjoying MUCH more support from Sony than the Playstation did during the transition to a new console. The PSP system has had a whole bevy of ports at this point. Ports of PS2 games, ports of PS1 games, ports of Saturn games, and pretty soon ports it will have ports of Dreamcast games as well. This is both a good and bad thing. Its good because its the first time both CD and DVD-based games are finally able to be played on a handheld, but its also a bad thing because it tends to curb development of original titles for the system. But at the end of the day, almost ev... Read more
It has the same look and feel of the old but it plays just as well if not moreso to the original. The small quirks are just that, quirks. To some it is confusing to see two image differences between the 2D and 3D. To this day the game is just as engrossing as the original, that being the upside. the downside is exactly what others said, it's not exactly a portable adventure where save spots are far off. If you have to, save this game for long road/plane rides or long ... Read more
