Summary: On August 30th, 2010 I picked up my pre-order of Valkyria Chronicles II; the entire reason I bought my PSP. Now, a year and 24 days later... 154 hours, 29 minutes, and 12 seconds in-game time later, I have finished it. I clocked in with level 36 across the board except for shocktroopers who made it to level 37. At 154 and a half hours VC II ranks as the LONGEST single-player campaign that I ever completed.

Summary: Valkyria Chronicles 2 brings more of the great combination of turn-based strategy,real-time strategy and role-play gaming that the first Valkyria Chronicles brought us and Valkyria Chronicles 2 adds a new multiple map/network system that I'll explain about later. The story for Valkyria Chronicles 2 is set 2 years after the conclusion of the first Valkyria Chronicles game.Even though the second European War has come to an end,Gallia still cannot enjoy peace because a...
Summary: In this review I am generally going to try and avoid comparing this game with the original, but there are somethings that need to be said so I'm getting them out of the way here. This game cannot hold a candle to the PS3 original, and the reason is almost entirely the graphical limitations of the PSP system. The beautiful cinematic cutscenes have gone, replaced by still images with text boxes that don't really add as much to the feeling of being present in the world.
Summary: This is a really good game- much better than you might think for a psp game. I know some don't fully appreciate psp games so much but I personally liked quite a few. This game though is in a category of its own and it's definitely worth buying. The characters are what makes this game great. Their personality is definitely more than most.
Summary: Valkyria Chronicles II is one of the most amazing strategy games I've ever played. And I've been playing the genre since ye olde days of X-COM and Shining Force. VCII is simply a wonderful evolution of the genre, thanks to its innovative BLiTZ (Battle of Live Tactical Zones) combat system. This method of turn based initiative versus real time execution reveals new stratagems that continuously improve in subtle ways the longer you play.
Summary: Confession time: I never played the first Valkyria Chronicles . To many this might make my opinion of the second iteration irrelevant, but it does give me an unbiased opinion on this game. Many of us in the west didn’t play either game of the series, and the fact that Valkyria Chronicles 2 was released only on PSP did not improve the sales figures. Although this move of consoles was a bit frustrating to some fans, it is not irrational.
Summary: many people will say that Valkyria Chronicles 2 is "bad" because of the shift from the more serious atmosphere of the original to the less serious anime-highschool setting of the sequel. I found the characters to be lovable and unique, not to mention the growth system that rewards the player for using a certain character by unlocking personality traits that increase team synergy and making them more relatable.
