Summary: When Sega’s Valkyria Chronicles came out for the PlayStation 3 in 2008, it received numerous awards, consequentially prompting its developer to turn the game into a franchise. However, rather than continue the series on the PS3, Sega instead shifted it to the PlayStation Portable, irritating some fans. However, the sequel largely outclasses its predecessor in virtually every aspect.
Summary: The PSP version stays true to the series and adds some new content like class upgrades, more research options, more tank parts. The story is decent, but nothing amazing or at least compared to the original. The maps are repeated alot and are broken up in zones, which takes away from the game in my opinion. The PS3 version had unique maps for each level and were bigger. For a PSP version my expectations were lower and I think they did a good enough job for 4 stars.
The sequel to one of the greatest Turn Based strategy games ever made

Summary: When Nintendo started to slack on fire emblem, I happened to find the original Valkyrian Chronicles for Ps3. That game was epic , the only downside is that Sega couldn't pack the massive game of Valkrian Chronicles PS3 onto the PSP . What was a large scale war game( with a FAR better story line, the first one dealt with so many complex issues, I'll just say if you have a solid grasp of world history you'll enjoy it more .
Summary: The Good: Deep strategy, great story and characters, lots of classes to play as, looks good The Bad: Small maps, huge difficulty spikes, heavy menus, character progression is slow Valkyria Chronicles II sets you right in the middle of a war between a government and rebels of Gallia, but what you really get into are the characters themselves and how they cope with each other. The game is set in a fictional WWII type setting, and is completely original.
Summary: Valkyria Chronicles 2 is an interesting sequel to the first game set on the PS3. The story takes place a few years in the future and follows the students of the Lanseal Academy in their fight against rebels. As with the first game, the combat of the game is similar with the addition of several new gameplay mechanics. The level of customization of your troops have increased with the addition of more weaponry, classes, and a new unit type.
Summary: VC2 is nowhere near as great as VC1 on PS3, but for a PSP title it's excellent in comparison to other games. It has the same addictive gameplay and strategic missions of the first, but they are noticeably easier and shorter to complete. VC1 would often have me playing a mission several times to successfully clear it. This one is a breeze to finish first play-through. That is a bit disappointing, along with the trivial story and silly characters this time around.
Summary: Im a big fan of valkyria chronicles the original. I bought the second excpecting the same. The second has many more class 5 main but each of those have 2 sub catagories and those 2 each have 2 more subcatagores for a totle of 35 i think class. The class system is way better though you dont start out with snipers but scouts that train into snipers. There are many diffrint missions and missions types.
