Excerpt: Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins is a flashback to the classic side-scroller games of yore. Oh the levels may look colorful, detailed, and 3D, but once you start playing you’ll see that this game is definitely from video gaming’s Middle Ages. We’re talking jumping, shooting, side-scrolling, rescue the princess gameplay here.
Conclusion: THE VERDICT: Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins is a game that will split the gaming public. The hardcore and/or older players will sing the praises and reminisce about a time when all games were this brutal. Those new to the experience, however, are likely to be put off by frustrating difficulty and a lack of real incentive to replay the game. Much as I hate to include such a cliché here, but: this is certainly one for fans of the series.
Excerpt: In Ultimate Ghosts ‘n Goblins you once again take on the role of Arthur, the brave protector of the often kidnapped Princess Prin-Prin, who happens to be the last living member of the royal bloodline. Under the leadership of a new ruler, the Demon Realm has yet again sent its forces to kidnap the Princess to complete the missing part of his plan to rule the world.
