A great port of the PS2 game, but with some hitches...

Summary: The anniversary/updated game to the classic is a welcome entry into the franchise. In Tomb Raider: Anniversary, you are once again placed into the role of the protagonist, Lara Croft, as she journeys around the world trying to find the ancient artifact, the Atlantean Scion. The retelling of this story brings with it some mechanics from Tomb Raider Legend, such as the repeling rope to make getting around the levels a different feel than what those who played the original...
Summary: Tomb Raider 1996 is one of my all time favorite games. Innovative, with an engrossing storyline, it was a classic way ahead of its time. In 2006, this, the 10th anniversary of this landmark game emerged, with revamped graphics and new challanges for long-time Tomb Raiders like myself. Though not quite as endearing as the Original Classic, it still has its charm and appeal. The Graphics on the PSP version are remarkable. Fantastic. It looks exactly as it does on the PC.
Summary: I've always loved Tomb Raider, and I enjoy playing this game. I think it's my inexperience in video game playing but some parts of the game took me some time to pass! But I still enjoyed it. I like that it's an adventure game. You have to think about what to do, how to do it, etc. You basically do your own critical thinking. I still haven't finished the complete game, but the scenery, just the whole adventure Lara has to go through is fun, interesting, and entertaining.
Summary: This is a perfect port of the PS2 version of the game. Everything comes to the PSP intact. There are some minor slowdown issues in places and the camera can often be a pain, but it is all worth it.
Summary: The Good: Amazing graphical feat, great control setup, amazing level design, adrenaline mode makes combat more interesting, great boss fights, cleverly designed puzzles, interesting story, Lara is sexy The Bad: Peppered level design flaws, simple combat, camera doesn't want to follow the action, short story, story isn't as fleshed out as it could have been, doesn't take risks with the new TR formula I never played any of the old TR games because they just didn't sit well...
Summary: Tomb Raider was the way forward in 1996. Everything about the game was revolutionary; the gameplay, the graphics, the story, the heroine that would go on to become the most identifiable icon in the gaming industry. It was critically acclaimed and sold millions, and I HATED it!! It was the opposite of what I felt a game should be, what was about, at the time was mario, sonic, street fighter 2; games that were fun, colorful and, well... not very challenging.
Summary: There's an interesting story regarding the development of Tomb Raider Anniversary, a remake of the 1996 PSone game, Tomb Raider. In 2006 the game was originally gonna be developed by Core Design who made the PSone Tomb Raiders, suggesting that Eidos were prepared to give Core another chance after the disastrous Angel Of Darkness game. Then the project was cancelled.
