Toca Race Driver 2
4 September 2006
Excerpt: Accompanying Codemasters’ Colin McRae Rally onto PSP is their other popular motorsport title, TOCA Race Driver 2. Recently it would be fair to say that the Warwickshire games house have shifted their emphasis more onto this game than its Rally-focused sibling. The TOCA games have a fond following, and ever since last year’s TRD2 have broadened their outlook to include other types of racing.
Conclusion: Ultimately though Toca Race Driver 2 doesn't feel quite as well suited to the short on-the-move bursts of gaming as Codemasters' other PSP launch title Colin McRae Rally 2005, but it's still a massively impressive launch title which really pushes the capabilities of the PSP without straining the machine too much and overdoing it.

Excerpt: Handhelds have traditionally been the home for quick, pick up and play games; the kind of game that you can dip in and out of, playing for five minutes every now and again. With the PSP comes a whole new level of handheld power and new possibilities for handheld games; games that offer depth and realism that hasn't been seen on a handheld before. The first game to tap into this new area of possibility is TOCA Race Driver 2 on the PSP.
Summary: Racing games are always going to be about on the infamous Playstation 2 but Toca race Driver 2 has now been released on Sony's new handheld the PSP! Let's face it though getting everything spot on a Racing game is imperative as gamers these days demand quality game play, graphics that look more real than ever and sound effects that impersonate the different cars. For a PSP release title you can't go far wrong!
