  • Excerpt: Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology is not your typical Tales game. That can either be good or bad depending upon your expectations. Tales of the World takes the battle system from Tales of the Abyss , blends it with characters from multiple games in the series, and adds in a helping of dungeon crawling.

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology

Playstation Illustrated

  • Excerpt: Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology comes from a solid, Action/RPG heritage. Dungeons are rendered in glorious 3D, looking every bit like a behind-the-back action title. The textures and artwork aren't anything groundbreaking, even for PSP, but the characters are creatively realized and have lots of diversity thanks to frequent costume and gear changes. Overall, the graphics are done well with good variety.

  • Excerpt: Since 1995's Tales of Phantasia, Namco's (now Bandai Namco) Tales series of RPGs has become one of the most prolific RPG series. My first experience with this series was Tales of Destiny for the Playstation One, back when the series was virtually unknown in North America. The series, over the years, amassed a following strong enough that recent years have seen many Tales games released in North America.

  • Conclusion: is an enjoyable RPG. The story driving the game isn't anything to get worked up about, but the high customization of character development, crafting, party setup, etc. offers hours of game play, as well it is somewhat nostalgic to get to interact and fight alongside with familiar faces from other games. In the end, "Radiant Mythology" is highly recommended. It is a solid PSP game for on-the-go-gaming.

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology

Portable Review

  • Excerpt: So Tales fans are probably nutting themselves over this one. The concept behind this Tales of the World game is to take various characters from past games and throw them together in one big clusterfuck of guild missions. Understandably, players will have mixed views on this, but all in all it’s assembled quite nicely.

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology Review

  • Excerpt: Games in the Tales series have been around for a long, long time. We've seen them appear on the SNES, the Playstation, the PS2 and the GameCube. Some of the installments have been great fun while others have flopped. However, there've been many more games in the series than we've seen stateside. This includes a couple of titles known as “megamixes”.

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology review (PSP)

  • Excerpt: Sometimes you're retrieving an item. Others you're rescuing someone who got lost, or delivering a goody he or she needs, or scavenging for materials at an item point. No matter how you look at it, though, you're no more than an errand boy (or girl) engaged in one long series of fetch quests.

Tales of the Fetch Quest

  • Excerpt: level of faith in the series to get past the complete douche of a main character. But it eventually paid off in a big way and became one of my top 5 favorite RPGs on the PlayStation 2. Given the wealth of great role-playing games on the system, that's no small feat. first then started plugging back into the PS2 archive. Though I'm by no means a well-rounded or seasoned vet of the series, I at least got the gist of what the series was about.
