Conclusion: Bottom line: If I can only have one SRPG for the rest of my life, it isn't even a contest. I could play Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together for the next 10 years and still be finding new stuff to try. One of the best remakes of all time.
Summary: It’s amazing how much is possible on four hours of sleep. Faking your way through the day and hoping nobody notices you yawning every few minutes isn’t so tough. It’s only after the third day that things get out of hand, at which point it’s time to give Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together a brief vacation. How hard can it be? After all, you can quit whenever you like, right?

Summary: Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is a textbook example of how not to remake a game. The game completely overhauls the character mechanics to the point where the game actively punishes you for gaining new character classes or monsters while also making the game laughably easy instead of the challenge you would feel proud for having beaten a decade ago. At the same time the game DOESN’T update the graphics as it looks on par with 2002′s Knight of Lodis .

I would know; about seven years ago, the Game Boy Advance installment ( Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis ) saved me from unspeakable boredom during a particularly long road trip. This PSP remake of the original Super Famicom release offers the same kind of experience: lengthy, challenging, rewarding, and insanely deep.

Excerpt: Tactics Ogre: Let US Cling Together is a remake of a Playstation (yes fanboys I know that in Japan it was on the Super NES first) game by the same name. That being said I never got to play the original game, which is why I was so excited when I heard that a remake was coming out for the PSP. Since I've never played the original I'm sure you'll understand if I don't compare the differences or similarities between the two. And with that out of the way, on to the review!
