The Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max is a conversion of the 2D arcade fighter Street Fighter Alpha 3. It brings all the brawls and action of Street Fighter Alpha 3 to your PSP. The exciting combat is still the same, with all the great Arcade modes and even some never-before-seen characters. Featuring a roster of 37 characters, including 3 (Maki, Yun, Eagle) never seen outside of the GBA version, and 1 brand-new character (Ingrid) to the game, all with their own storyline, you can spend a very long time learning the intricacies of all the fighters.

Features

The Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max includes all the novelties introduced in the Alpha series, including finite defences, the ability to recover and Isms to customize special attacks plus new killer content including new characters and game modes. To help avoid the typical repetitiveness of the game, all the modes available in the previous home versions of Alpha 3, such as Arcade Mode, Training Mode, Edit Mode, World Tour, Dramatic Battle and Survival modes are all available in this version, along with the brand-new 100-man Kumite (survival) and tag-team battle modes. The PSP version also has network games (Ad-Hoc only) for up to 8 players, with four additional modes like VS Mode, Team Mode, Variable Battle (take three players into battle of which you control two, and the computer one), and the Dramatic Battle with multiple fighters going at it simultaneously. The Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max comes with 37 Street Fighter heroes, all legendary brawlers of Street Fighter Alpha and more, plus hero creations system for the first time on PSP. It also has Multi Player mayhem of up to three players fighting on screen at once, plus eight player tournaments and leagues, all comes with wireless connectivity.

If you want to get down to the game for what it is, you're looking at the best Street Fighter Alpha 3 yet in Max. Capcom would be well within their rights to release it as-is on the consoles, if not in the arcades as well. More importantly, buying it directly from Capcom provides you with a permanent PSP system upgrade that effectively makes fighting games playable on the handheld, which is really the bottom line. It's a great game that includes something that any... Read more

In the end, SFA3M provides exactly what it should: a near-perfect Street Fighter game on the go. The controls are great and actually show some improvement on Capcom's part, which makes me feel that maybe the developers really are listening to customer feedback. The graphics and audio made the transition perfectly, and the presentation is true to the original — though maybe could have used a bit of a touch up. And if all that wasn't enough, the new additional modes and... Read more

A great fighting game that gets a direct kick in the nuts due to the analog stick but Capcom has a solution that's so crazy....it just might work! Read more

It's a little hard to get excited about another Street Fighter game, but Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max has found an appropriate home on the PSP. Its fluid gameplay, loads of content and decent multiplayer makes for a pretty solid fighter. It's still a port of the most rehashed franchise ever, but at least this old student has learned some new techniques. Read more

Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max , is a perfect game for the PSP - you can pick up for 5 minutes and have a quick bash, or play for a couple of hours on a long train journey! The first thing you'll notice when playing this game is the fantastic graphics and smoothness of the brilliant 2D animation, running at a constant 60 Frames Per Second, an excellent port of the arcade version. The next thing you'll notice is the excellent music and all the memorable sound effects, best... Read more

This game is easily worth the money if you like fighting games. It is one of those games that you can pick up and start playing at any time of the day. The fights are quick and you are able to save often, which makes it great for commuting. The game includes all of your favorite characters, and even some that you may have not seen before. To sum it all up, this is one of the better games that are currently out for the PSP console. Read more
