Summary: this game is alot of fun lots of stradgy involde. the charicters should have voices. the damage to the ships is a little lame should have parts of the ship brake off.good for younger people nice grafics the ships should have been historical.but for me its a nice game for long car trips
Summary: I was kinda leery about this game after reading the reviews here on amazon, but i got it used locally and was really surprised. It kinda feels like a simplified verrsion of PS2s Naval Ops:Commander. It does feel more old school on an advanced platform like the PSP. But said and done I would recommend this game, especially if you have a lot of time to kill!
Summary: I've been playing this game for a couple of weeks. It is basically the sea power version of Field Commander. There are several modes of play--Skirmish, Campaign, etc. The campaign mode feature a story line that isn't terribly interesting, but sets up various maps and goals. You have numerous unit types to select and control on a turn based map. Once you decide to attack it turns into a real time battle. On the plus side, the graphics are good.
Summary: I was very excited about this game. I am fan of WW2 games and this game for a change has Germans and Allies as opposed to Red vs Blue. However, the game introduces Robed figures and unrealistic super weapons. I could have lived with it if the game played well but it does not. In a mix or real time and turn based but is a wrong mix. On a map strategic level you are in turn based mode - and that lasts a long time while you fumble around looking for enemy.
Summary: Having read loads of negative reviews of this game it was a long time before I bought it, even though I really like navy-based games and movies etc.... It's not nearly as bad as the reviews made out and I've been playing it solidly now for a few weeks. Yes, a sci-fi element has been introduced to the WWII setting but I don't see what's bad about that? It's only a game!
Summary: I bought this game and have played it. Why in name of all thats holy they have chosen to re-write WWII beggers understanding,I suspect it's so they could have nice Germans and nice Japanese on the same side ( yes the same side ) as the nice Americans ( who sink the Bismark in a massive Fleet Action ). Aside the from the looney back story, the game play was 'OK' in a Turn Based "Battleship" way. However there was too much nonsense for this to be truly enjoyable.
Conclusion: Being a fan of strategy games I saw this and purchased it. I was not dissapointed. It is similar to field commander in the overview and positioning of your forces but unlike field commander the battle scenes are in 3D. The range of ships is quite good and the ability to customise your flagship with some extra armour or hardware is a nice touch. If you like stategy you will love this game. All this and it fits into your pocket.
