PSP Review - 'Stacked with Daniel Negreanu'
26 August 2007
Summary: A Texas Hold 'em game that captures the spirit of the professional poker tour, Stacked utilizes an advanced learning artificial intelligence system that adapts to each player's style of play and a detailed tutorial mode to deliver a thrilling and realistic poker experience.
Conclusion: PSP owners looking for some poker on the go don't have a lot of good options. With WSOP and Stacked on the market both titles offer something that the other doesn't but in the end neither is really worth getting. I was hoping that Stacked for the PSP would have been better than the PS2 version but sadly the same control issues and lackluster presentation were carried over.
Conclusion: Ultimately STACKED is one of the finest no-stakes poker games available for any system, so long as you can stomach its glacial pace. The tutorials and in-game advice can be ignored completely if you just want to get in there and play, tournaments are structured so that there is a lot of incentive to place high so you can unlock new venues, and the AI doesn’t just roll over and die like it does in so many other Texas Hold’em pretenders.
Pros: Strong AI opponent; superb presentation.
Cons: Slow pace; long load times; some issues with audio loading.
Excerpt: You’re kidding, this is actually from MTV? What’s next?! JACKASS The GAME… wait, I better not say that… it might come to pass. But because you can’t seem to get enough of games involving virtual vice like gambling then how about this game, which is about as interesting as watching a show about people playing Texas Hold ‘Em for profit… which is to say not so much.
Conclusion: Moge duidelijk zijn dat ik me nauwelijks vermaakt heb met Stacked with Daniel Negreanu.
