Test Soulcalibur Broken Destiny

Generation NT
10 February 2010
  • Pros: Graphismes, Animation, Simply Soulcalibur
  • Cons: Maniabilité discutable, Mode Histoire?

Grabbing Your Soul

GIN
12 December 2009
  • Excerpt: I am not the person to be reviewing fighting games. As far as the genre goes, I happen to be one of those button-mash players that can do little more than get by on luck and happenstance; however, that being said, I also have the tendency to view games objectively. Empathy is a virtue, or so I am told, so I went into SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny to try and touch base with my inner fighter.

Soul To Go

TotalPlayStation.com
4 November 2009
  • Conclusion: Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny is a great technical achievement for the PSP and yet it feels like a few interesting single player focused additions would have made it an instant hit. Wasted potential can be worse than a terrible game to begin with.

Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny

Gamer vision
13 October 2009
  • Excerpt: In 2006, Namco proved it could deliver the same high-octane fighting action on the PSP that they’re known for on the bigger consoles with their release of Tekken: Dark Resurrection Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny attempts to give the same treatment to its other famous fighting franchise, and while the game is undoubtedly a technically impressive achievement, its lack of worthwhile play modes keep it from being nearly as memorable as Dark Resurrection.

  • Conclusion: Aside from “pushed back”, no two words will take the wind out of a gamer’s sails like “PSP exclusive”. This is only made worse when the game in question is from a long-running and wildly popular series like Soul Calibur . Despite having this disappointing trait, many of the games that commit this cardinal sin can actually be great ( Daxter , God of War: Chains of Olympus , MGS: Portable Ops ) and Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny is no exception to this surprising trend.
  • Pros: Superb gameplay, Really short load times..., No more asinine stats nonsense
  • Cons: ...if you've got the memory for an install, No story mode, Gauntlet mode is soooo laaaammee!!!!

Expert Review

PSX Extreme
10 September 2009
  • Excerpt: Up until now, Tekken has been the only massive 3D fighter to arrive on the PSP. Years ago when Tekken: Dark Resurrection arrived on the PSP, I praised it for being a superb game that brought the very same console experience into the portable world, complete with a story mode, endings, and all. So with SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny on the way, I expected to see that same kind of treatment. And while Broken Destiny delivers in many areas, it fails in one critical aspect...
