Silent Hill: Origins PSP Review

Console Obsession
30 May 2010
  • Excerpt: Silent Hill: Origins was set to be a major Resident Evil 4 style reworking of the popular series, and would have more than likely eradicated the recurring problems that the series, for some reason, hasn’t been able to shake off or simply is too stubborn to do so. But the developer changed hands from the US Climax studio to the UK studio (yes, as with Silent Hill 5 the wonderful Team Silent has taken a back seat for this one) and as a result what we have here is a Silent...

Silent Hill: Origins (PSP) - Review

VGChartz
25 August 2009
  • Excerpt: I’m a big fan of survival horror games. Ever since Resident Evil I found myself looking forward to any game that promised a good scare. One of the first games that would probably come to your mind when you think of survival horror games is Silent Hill. This game truly has made a reputation for itself with its dark atmosphere and disturbing visuals. Silent Hill has really earned its spot as one of gaming’s finest horror titles.

Game places you inside a scary horror movie.

Common Sense Media
1 June 2008
  • Summary: Parents need to know that the game is violent, scary, and gory. Players can smash a creature over the head with blunt instruments, shoot them, light them on fire, or punch them. Blood comes out of the fallen baddies, and also appears on walls and items. These monsters will grab and hold onto you, spit out fluid, or slash at your character's face. The imagery is also very creepy and involves a young girl, which some might find disturbing.

Silent Hill: Origins

Playstation Illustrated
11 April 2008
  • Excerpt: The graphics is Silent Hill Origins are on par with the PS2 iterations that we've seen in the past - spooky, eerie, and appropriately terrifying. The world of Silent Hill , at least the outdoor world, is filled with a sweeping fog that shrouds horrifying creatures of all kinds. Travis Grady, the protagonist, will meet up with a myriad of characters and creatures, including familiar folks such as Nurse Lisa Garland, Dahlia Gillespie and Alessa Gillespie.

Silent Hill Origins review (PSP)

HonestGamers
10 January 2008
  • Excerpt: The spectre of Dahlia—the cult’s resident fanatic, bent on raising a god borne of pain and suffering—still serves as thematic backdrop for a lonely trek guided toward fate by broken doors and crumbling streets which gape at oblivion.

Silent Hill: Origins

Game Over Online
12 December 2007
  • Excerpt: One of the most disquieting things about the Silent Hill series at the moment is that they aren't being made in-house anymore. Silent Hill 5 is in the questionably capable hands of the Collective, and Silent Hill Origins was produced by Climax, the studio that gave the world many licensed titles and Sudeki . I have no idea what in either developer's resume convinced Konami to hand over the reins, or why "Team Silent" has apparently broken up.

Silent Hill Origins

7 December 2007
  • Excerpt: Game: Silent Hill: Origins Genre: Survival Horror Platform: PSP So before getting into this review, there are two things you should know. First things first, I’m a little rusty on my Silent Hill mythology. I’ve only played the PlayStation original, not any of the sequels, and it’s been years since playing even that. Secondly, I don’t usually play survival horror games by myself. Why? Because I am a scaredy-cat.
