Silent Hill: Origins PSP Review

Console Obsession
30 May 2010
  • Excerpt: Silent Hill: Origins was set to be a major Resident Evil 4 style reworking of the popular series, and would have more than likely eradicated the recurring problems that the series, for some reason, hasn’t been able to shake off or simply is too stubborn to do so. But the developer changed hands from the US Climax studio to the UK studio (yes, as with Silent Hill 5 the wonderful Team Silent has taken a back seat for this one) and as a result what we have here is a Silent...

Silent Hill: Origins (PSP) - Review

25 August 2009
  • Excerpt: I’m a big fan of survival horror games. Ever since Resident Evil I found myself looking forward to any game that promised a good scare. One of the first games that would probably come to your mind when you think of survival horror games is Silent Hill. This game truly has made a reputation for itself with its dark atmosphere and disturbing visuals. Silent Hill has really earned its spot as one of gaming’s finest horror titles.

Review – Silent Hill Origins

  • Conclusion: Like God of War: Chains of Olympus, Origins is an amazing accomplishment for a PSP game, but as another legitimate entry in its respective series, it feels like excess baggage.

Cheat Code Central

Game places you inside a scary horror movie.

Common Sense Media
23 July 2008
  • Summary: Parents need to know that the game is violent, scary, and gory. Players can smash a creature over the head with blunt instruments, shoot them, light them on fire, or punch them. Blood comes out of the fallen baddies, and also appears on walls and items. These monsters will grab and hold onto you, spit out fluid, or slash at your character's face. The imagery is also very creepy and involves a young girl, which some might find disturbing.

Silent Hill: Origins (PSP)

26 June 2008
  • Excerpt: This game has been rated M for Mature (Ages 17 and up) for Blood and Gore, Language, Suggestive Themes, Violence by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board. Silent Hill. Even the name is chilling. Silent Hill: Origins really has all of the components that make a horror game: monsters, blood, scary music, creepy locations, a poor combat system…it’s all there. There’s also the blood, gore, and occult themes. Not to mention it’s one extremely scary game.
