Summary: I don't regret buying this game. I bought it for a good price, and it was fun. There is quite a lot of variability built into the game. That is, no two games will be exactly the same. However, it did start to get overly monotonous for me after a few months. Additionally, and other reviewers might lambaste me for saying this, the game does not have a lot of depth. Yes, there's a lot to do. Yes, there's a lot to explore.
Summary: The game looks fun but follow through is mediocre. I guess you can't expect computer strategy on a handheld. It will keep you attention for a while but the game gets a little monotonous after two hours of play. Nice try but no cigar.
Summary: Like most strategy games, it takes a while to get things right--I usually end up restarting several times, as I learn more and more about what I'm supposed to be doing. But that could be just me not reading the game manual. It is a very addictive game with some minor bugs (sound crackles and seems rather uneven, in some "dance" minigame, button presses are not recognized); some of it is repetitive (duels, wooing the gov'ner's daughter, visiting...
Conclusion: An excellent game and flawlessly transformed into a PSP format. With quests and other things constantly changing every time you start a new game you will spend hours on the game before you play the same game again. But yet after all these changing values, the games concept is repetitive, and well, however addictive it is it is in the end it will get ... boring.
Summary: When I first bought this game, I couldn't put it down and I eagerly set about all the activities mentioned by the other reviewers. I eventually finished the campaign with quite a high rating. However, when I started the next campaign under a different country it seemed almost identical. It seems to make almost no difference which country you adopt. In addition, after a while, all the actions. locations and characters begin to become repetitive after a while.
Summary: I had never played the previous versions of the game so was unsure what to expect, but high ratings on other websites convinced me to buy it. At first it was quite fun sailing around and going to all the ports, fighting other pirates, discovering lost cities etc. Then after a day or two it got very repetitive and quite boring to be honest.
