Resistance: Retribution

Playstation Illustrated
2 September 2009
  • Excerpt: If I had to list a number of development studios that make the best PSP titles, Sony Bend would undoubtedly be around the top of that list. These are the guys who took the smoldering ashes of the Syphon Filter series and summoned a phoenix from them. The Oregon-based studio recently accepted a different challenge - to craft a handheld installment of the Resistance series.

Resistance: Retribution

The Gamers Temple
21 July 2009
  • Excerpt: Listen up, game designers – I may not speak for everyone, but as a whole, gamers are sick to death of the badass, wise-cracking anti-hero. Let's face it; the concept gained popularity in the 80's which, if you're keeping track, is coming up on thirty years ago… I'd wager that some of the folks who end up reading this weren't even born yet!

Resistance Retribution Review (PSP)

Yet Another Review Site
15 May 2009
  • Excerpt: Resistance the Chimera on the Go. Resistance Retribution marks the third released Resistance game and takes place after the events of Resistance Fall of Man and before Resistance 2, but this PSP journey is brought to us by Bend Studios (creative minds behind Syphon Filter). Resistance Retribution begins with us meeting an outcast on death row in James Grayson, a former British Marine who defied orders and now faces the firing squad.
  • Pros: The gameplay mechanics are spot on, its a great entry into the Resistance series.
  • Cons: Like the console games the Resistance backdrop is more intriguing than the actual story being presented. The multiplayer is plagued with hackers.
