  • Summary: Retribution protagonist James Grayson is a talkative and brash counter to the solemn Nathan Hale. I have no problem with this change; it's Grayson's need for 1990s-style health packs and bland pop-up-and-shoot gameplay that brings this title down. Thankfully high production values, mech sequences, and plenty of large-scale boss battles help even things out. If you own Resistance 2, definitely use it to ''infect'' your PSP and earn regenerative health and a sweet magnum.

  • Summary: Whether you own a PS3 or not and even if you’ve skipped the other games in the series, this is a sure-set way to kill a good amount of time and put your PSP to use. I highly recommend this game to PSP owners worldwide.
  • Pros: -Fantastic graphics., -Online is lag-free and very fun., -Single player campaign is lengthy and never dull., -Auto aiming has been tweaked perfectly for the PSP.
  • Cons: -Still designed to be like every other third-person shooter., -Some features require a PS3 and “Resistance 2″ in order to unlock them.

Resistance: Retribution (PSP) Review

411mania.com
24 April 2009
  • Summary: With “as good as it gets” controls, repetitive gameplay, and a barebones story, doesn’t do much to distinguish itself from better games on the PSP. You certainly can’t call the action “bad,” and the weapons in particular are a lot of fun to use, but it just all comes off as fairly average. All in all, is a decent shooter, but it’s hard to recommend it to anyone other than hardcore fans of the series.

Resistance: Retribution

  • Excerpt: I had the chance to review Resistance 2 for the PS3 during the holiday glut of games in late 2008. Overall I was pretty impressed with the effort at hand. Sony has recently released another Resistance game, this time for the PSP. Resistance: Retribution takes place between the stories of the two games that were released on the PS3, and it has a new developer at the helm.

Game Over Online

  • Excerpt: I don’t know about you but my PSP has been gathering dust pretty much since Secret Agent Clank came out last June. There wasn’t much to be cheerful about this past holiday season but Sony is committed to putting an end to that drought. The New Year has already seen the release of LocoRoco 2 and MLB 09: The Show, with a sequel to one of my favorite PSP games, Patapon, waiting to Pata-pata-pata-PON its way back into the hearts of gamers.

Resistance: Retribution

  • Excerpt: Name: Resistance: Retribution Genre: Third-Person Shooter Platform: PlayStation Portable At many times it feels like the PSP is a dying platform. New releases, for the most part, are few and far between, and while there are a few must-owns on the platform, most anything worthwhile ends up being bumped to the PlayStation 2 after a few months, which has a significantly better battery life and a superior controller.
