Retribution is a third person action-adventure game created for PSP that bridges Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2™. The game features a dramatic storyline set against the battle to retake the European continent, and follows a single soldier’s grim determination to avenge his fallen brother. The game features Bend Studio’s third generation PSP engine that allows for more enemies on screen, more detailed characters with higher resolution bitmaps and highlights, and a memory buffer system that allows for larger and more detailed worlds. It also features the Revolutionary Targeting System – an advanced third person targeting system designed specifically for the PSP; liberal checkpoint system makes the title ideal for small bursts of gameplay for the on-the-go gamer; weaponry that includes favorites from Resistance: Fall of Man like the Auger, Carbine, and LAARK, as well as new weapons based on hybrid Alien/Human technology – including the BM001 Razor and the Longbow 1S-1K “One shot, one kill” sniper rifle; over 10 different types of enemies, including Chimera from Resistance 2™ and Resistance: Fall of Man – including the Titan, Slipskull, Hybrids and Leapers – and new enemies like the Hag and Cloven; and eight player multiplayer gameplay with five game modes including Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Containment and Assimilation The game also features Infected Mode which, by connecting Resistance: Retribution to Resistance 2 using a USB cable, players are provided with an alternate story within the alternate history (by selecting “Infect your PSP!” on the R2 game). In this mode, Grayson is recruited by Specter Lieutenant David LaSalle (from the R2 storyline) and is infected with a mutated version of the Chimeran virus, a different version of the virus that infects Nathan Hale. While playing in “infected” mode, Grayson wears a Specter uniform and has glowing Chimeran eyes. This will alter the behaviour of characters in the story as the are aware of the Chimerian infection.

All in all, Resistance: Retribution is a great game. It doesn't set out to shatter any barriers of game design, but is currently one of the very few must-have titles for Sony's PlayStation Portable. It might seem a bit strange at first, but you will certainly get hooked on it, and the urge to fight the Chimera anywhere you go, on the bus, subway or during trips, will be unbearable. With the story leaving space for a sequel, Sony will surely need to be careful as to not... Read more
Bonn, Germany has a long history that dates back to about 11 BC when the Roman Army stationed a unit in what is presently the historical center of the town. Before that, the Roman Army also resettled members of the Ubii Germanic tribal group in Bonn that made up much of the area’s earliest inhabitants. Read more
On top of a single-player campaign that's well worth experiencing for Resistance and action game fans alike, Retribution also includes a solid multiplayer mode. Playable over a local wireless connection or online using the PSP's Infrastructure mode, up to eight players can battle out in a variety of team and everyone versus everyone game types. The game type that stands out is Assimilation, in which teams start off even, with one side as humans and the other as the... Read more
In spite of some problems, Resistance: Retribution is a challenging, well-designed third-person shooter with lots of replayability. If you don't mind cheesy accents and hand cramps, it's a title worth picking up. Read more
Ive been playing this game for about a day now, and let me tell you, this is one of the best experiences I've had on my PSP in a long time. This is probably the best multiplayer PSP game out yet. Highly recommended on my part. Read more
I've been a loyal PlayStation fan for ten years, but I have to admit that there lies a significant lack of games for Sony's consoles that hold the ability to keep a player intrigued through multiple installations (for example, Crash Bandicoot should have been put to pasture after "Wrath of Cortex"). But the blockbuster hit "Resistance: Fall of Man" was one title that absolutely floored me from the start. An incredible story, comfortable controls, chilling visual... Read more

If you like getting shot at while not being able to see where the enemy is, trying to "hurry" to reach a point only to have the character take cover behind some random waist high thing (but not all of them), trying to keep an npc alive as they stand in the open and get shot/killed, keeping that same npc alive only to have them die during the next cut scene or getting within a few feet of the end of a section only to die and have to start at the beginning then you will...
