Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice

Hardcore Gamer

  • Summary: Nothing makes gaming more dull than a sudden outbreak of peace and quiet, but that’s exactly the disease that’s inflicted the streets of Capital City after the Pursuit Force cleaned up the streets. Thankfully peace never lasts long, and after the Commander and his almost-bride get their wedding interrupted it’s time to take down a horde of ’80s cliché villains and cultural stereotypes.

Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice

Playstation Illustrated

  • Excerpt: Sequels have a tendency to let us down. I mean that "us" in the broadest possible sense, as in the whole of mankind and womankind. Sequels just generally just don't have the same juice as the original. T2 and Aliens being notable exceptions... Sequels are mostly allowed to be unoriginal if they can take a good formula and expand on it. In this light, it's interesting to see how much more was packed into Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice compared to the first game.

  • Excerpt: Less than two years following the release of the original Pursuit Force on the PSP its sequel finally arrives. Developed by Bigbig Studios, it is clear from the get-go Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice was made with the Sony’s portable console in mind, even though it is set to arrive on the PS2 sometime later this year. Not having played the original game I was very curious to see what all the hoopla was about.

  • Excerpt: Extreme Justice plays like an action movie with super hero cops spouting really lame dialog all the way through a truly pathetic story arc which nonetheless doesn't quite totally detract from the fact that the action is truly a lot of fun.

  • Summary: An action-packed story mode and plenty of extras make Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice a worthy sequel to one of the PSP's more innovative action games.
  • Pros: Memorable boss battles, Jumping between vehicles is as fun as ever, Plenty of replay value
  • Cons: Awkward on-foot controls, Irritating gang-member voices
