Had it not been released at the remarkably low price tag of $20 USD, Patapon might have been overlooked by many here in the States. That’s not to assume that the game is bad or a ‘budget title’ in any way. In fact, this may very well be the third most satisfying twenty dollars you spend on a PSP title. The first and second most satisfying twenty bucks you spend would, of course, be the forty that put Monster Hunter Freedom 2 in your hot little hands… Read more

by Maria Montoro Pon-Pon-Pata-Pon...That's the mantra you won't forget once you play Patapon for the first time. Let me start by saying this is a unique title every PSP owner should play, as long as everyone's willing to sacrifice their mental harmony for a bunch of army chants! The creators of the highly-praised LocoRoco are back with a new exceptional adventure. The two games are not all that similar, but you'll probably find a few reminders when you play Patapon. The... I’ve played a lot of games over the years, but I’ve never played one quite like Patapon. I don’t even know what genre this fits into. Combining elements of action, music, RPGs, and real-time strategy, Patapon is one of the most unique video game experiences you’ll have this year. The game’s ingratiating soundtrack, cool visual aesthetics, and odd sense of humor will get you through the somewhat repetitive early stages. Thankfully, the game soon opens up to... Read more

People may brush off Patapon as a niche title but this is a game everyone should experience and for only $20 you have no reason to let this game slip by you. Read more

Patapon is a bizarre, cute, and fantastic psp game. I often describe it as the result of a union between the pokemon games and guitar hero. The only problem with the game that I have is that there is a bit of FFand MMO-style grinding for materials and money, but it is only a minor problem that does not take away from the game significantly. Everything else is executed perfectly. This is a perfect game to get any psp owner, and with its attractive $19.99 price tag, it is... Read more
