Excerpt: The ESRB bestowed an ‘E’ for Everyone rating with absolutely no descriptors for Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast. This is Outrun, the WMG knew the ESRB is asleep at the wheel again. Hopefully this review will get to you before it causes a crash in your family. This Playstation Portable disc is an interesting upgrade to the old Outrun series, and generally stays faithfully true to the series.
Excerpt: You know that expression about not appreciating what you have until it's gone? How about a new expression, to express how nice it is to play a racing game that isn't futuristic or set against gritty, gray city backdrops? Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast would be a great Racer in any setting, but I really like the bright daylight tracks. The tracks, as you might imagine from the title, are spiced with various pieces of Americana.
Excerpt: It's strange how certain games are tied to a system so tightly that you don't believe they'll ever work on anything else. Outrun 2 is such a game, with fans swearing blind that it could never work as well as it does on the Xbox. OutRun in my pocket is one of those things.
Excerpt: Ah, the mighty OutRun returns. The daddy of all arcade racers. Sega’s OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast has all the features that fans love and loads of new ones. The Ferrari license brings a 12-car line-up to the game, so you’ll soon be drifting a range of extremely expensive red Ferraris around the many bends of this arcade dreamworld, whilst attempting to win the heart of your baby beside you at the wheel. Cars featured include the all-new F430 and the dazzling Superamerica.
Summary: Sega's Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast for the
PSP is a solidly entertaining arcade racer that brings the classic racing series
up to date with improved graphics, multiple courses and other additional
features. Added modes such as time attack, heart and multiplayer options add to
the fun. This conversion does an excellent job in bringing the arcade game to
Conclusion: The perfect condensation of arcade themes, jaw-dropping visuals and old-school challenge come together in one of the most complete ports I've ever seen on the PSP. Buy this game, and buy it now.
