Summary: This game is great on visuals, controls are simple to use...one of the better racing games out right now. Here's the kicker: passing levels is daunting, especially the drift challenges, and there's always a drift challenge to get to the next level. The points needed are way too high to reach and you can skip the drift challenges until a certain point. Then it's pass them or never move on, which is very frustrating.
Summary: This game is okay but its not really what I know as Need for Speed. This game just has open streets that don't have anything in them. Where's the thrill of the game now? This game is still good but if it is trying to interfere with Gran Turismo then I think that absurd. NFS is good for its street racing and GT is good for its realistic driving. I preordered this game and when it came out it looked awesome.
Summary: There are loads of great elements to this game but I'm completely annoyed that drifting is such a requirement. If you don't like or are not good at drifting, don't buy this game. It's better than Prostreet but not as good as some other NFS games. Graphics are good, cars are good, music is okay.
Summary: I bought this game with High expectations, compared to the other NFS games, on various platforms. The game has a lovely level of graphics...much better than other driving games i've played, and the race modes/types really do, as they suggested, make you instantly adopt your own racing style. now, the downsides. 80% of the reason why I bought this game was the for the freedriving.
Although slightly disappointed its nothing like the Ps3/Xbox360 versions, it is somewhat reasonable

Excerpt: Right off, I just want to say that I'm a major fan of the Need for Speed franchise, and personally I see that it's the greatest racing series of all time, so you may be excused to think that I'd write a biased review towards any Need for Speed game, and I do admit, all the review I've written in the past about Need for Speed games have been positive. But this isn't going to be one of them.
Summary: This is a good game fun to play and easy to drive. you get a wide choice of cars and the graphics are good. Unfortunatly i think this is overshadowed by the Gran Turismo game. which has a wider selection of cars, better graphics, more tracks and more realistic. dont get me wrong NFS Shift is a great game and i not saying dont buy it, but i am saying in my opinion i think Gran Turismo is the better game. I have both of the games so i know.
