NCAA Football 07

Operation Sports
6 October 2006
  • Excerpt: Not because Sony's little wonder isn't still an impressive piece of machinery, but because developers have taken to shoe-horning their PS2 titles into the PSP with little or no changes made to accommodate the portable system or it's users.

NCAA Football 07

Playstation Illustrated
17 August 2006
  • Excerpt: From the start, it is clear that NCAA Football 07 is trying to bring players, “into the game” so to speak with its new camera system during certain key plays. Rather than staying in a locked position for most of the game, it instead sweeps around the field during plays, giving things a more dynamic feel. Camera changes are limited mainly to kick offs, punts and at moments when the momentum swings in your favor.

Welcome, freshman!

Game Revolution

  • Conclusion: While it isn’t going to win any awards, NCAA Football 07 does something even more important - it makes you feel a little bit better about all that money you spent on your PSP. And as much as we wish the whole thing was bigger, stronger and faster, we’re happy with it just the way it is and recommend recruiting it for your PSP collection.
  • Pros: Momentum shakes things up, So does jumping the snap, Slick graphics, Dynasty and online play are worth your while
  • Cons: But other cool modes are absent, Nagging control issues

Game Revolution

  • Excerpt: Just say no to pro. Summer isn’t just slow for gamers - it’s also slow for sports fans. And if you’re a video gaming sports fan, it’s almost boring enough to drive you to literature. But don’t open that novel just yet, because the video game college football season starts right now , with EA’s NCAA Football 2007 . With streamlined modes, a ton of content and some great new moves, this is one of EA’s best college tries. And it’s definitely the biggest.
  • Pros: Defensive linemen rule, So does the momentum system, All of last year’s great content, Revamped Campus Legend mode, That still has some problems, Special teams tweaks unnecessary

  • Conclusion: That said, there are a few areas in which the PSP version of NCAA 07 falls short. The most obvious area of trouble is in the ground game, specifically when running up the middle. All too often, when plowing your running back in between the tackles, he'll get stuck behind an offensive lineman and simply choose to run in place, rather than bounce to the outside.
  • Pros: College football in your pocket, new camera angles and controls add some excitement, plenty of teams and playbooks to choose from, best commentary crew in the business.
  • Cons: Stadiums aren't always accurate, tackling animations can be wonky, no Campus Legend mode, no minigames, online play is hit or miss.

  • Excerpt: Sure, other states also have this noticeable lack of major sports teams in one sport or another but, well, since I don’t live in any of those other states I’m just going to fixate on Hawaii’s lack of major sporting teams. Hawaii, it seems, totally blows in the National slash International Sports field because we have so little to be proud of as a state short of our Little League Baseball team or Volleyball and I really don‘t feel like reviewing Little League Baseball ‘07...
