  • Excerpt: NBA is the first and only basketball game available at the launch of the PSP. Unfortunately, these two points turn out to be the game's only notable distinctions since the game itself is a rather lackluster basketball experience. Being the first out of the gate does come with its advantages, namely there's little to be compared with.

  • Excerpt: Features 1-2 Players Memory Stick Duo – 672 KB Wi-Fi Compatible (Ad Hoc/Infrastructure) I will admit that I do enjoy my sports games when playing videogames. When Sony made the announcement that they were entering the portable gaming business with their PSP I had no idea that it would be flooded with sports titles. Everything from Golf to Soccer has made it way to this powerful little machine.

  • Excerpt: As just about every gamer knows, basketball games are an inevitable part of any hardware launch. Not only is it a competitive sport that appeals to casual and hardcore gamers alike, it’s a relatively easy game that can demonstrate the capabilities of a new system. So it’s no surprise that one of the launch titles for Sony’s PSP would focus on hoops. 989 Studios took on the task of miniaturizing its B-Ball franchise onto the newly launched handheld.

  • Excerpt: You have to admit it, anticipation is never high when Sony announces a sports game. So when NBA was announced for the PSP, I honestly wasn't as thrilled about it as say...Ridge Racer or WipeOut Pure. But nevertheless, I was curious to see if 989 could maybe have put together a somewhat decent hoops game for the launch of the console. My curiosity was quickly answered when I actually got the game in my hand.
