Playstation Illustrated
22 November 2006
  • Excerpt: Sony has had a rough time of getting its sports franchises up and running in the post PSOne era. While some have managed to take bigger steps than others, the overall picture hasn’t been a good one. With the introduction of the PSP, Sony has received something of a second wind and actually started to get a little more creative with their offerings.

The Gamers Temple
21 November 2006
  • Excerpt: NBA 07 provides basketball fans with a bit of a mixed blessing. On the one hand it packs in a ton of gameplay in a large number of modes giving you plenty of ways to enjoy NBA action on the go. On the other, when it comes down to it the actual basketball play in the game has some serious issues which put a major damper on things. This is a shame because if the game could have put up on the court, then it would easily be one of the best portable sports titles of the year.

  • Excerpt: Developer – SCE Studios San Diego Publisher – Sony Computer Entertainment Features 1-2 Players Memory Stick Duo – 256 KB Gamesharing Wi-Fi Compatible (Ad Hoc)(1-2 Players) Wi-Fi Compatible (Infrastructure)(1-2 Players) Having reviewed the other two NBA releases by Sony on the PSP, it only made sense that I was to review their newest one, NBA 07. I think for sanity sake the majority of what I want to do is focus on the newest additions to the gameplay.

  • Excerpt: For years now, Sony has struggled to provide a basketball sim that can hang with the efforts from 2K or EA's Sports divisions. Up until a couple years ago, though, that was seen as something of a nigh-fruitless, uphill battle; the former 989 Sports' engines, weren't up to par with the big guys, and they didn't really offer anything that wasn't done better in other basketball games. hit.
