The Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: The Phantom Fortress provides players to take a custom party of four NARUTO characters through over 100 floors of the castle (Phantom Fortress), experiencing fierce one-on-one battles, exciting quiz, mini-games and dramatic story twists in an all-out game of survival. Updating the series’ trademark fast-paced combat system, players will be able to pull off acrobatic flying attacks, flashy combo strikes and unstoppable Jutsu skills with ease. Additionally, players can customize their game experience by choosing to play through the full game with English or the original Japanese voices.
The Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: The Phantom Fortress story-line revolves around a mysterious phantom castle that has suddenly appeared over the Hidden Leaf Village, draining the townspeople’s life energy. When Naruto infiltrates the castle to find out who is behind this terrible scheme, he finds himself confronted with threatening illusions, visions of the past and a strange masked woman with a vendetta against the Leaf Ninja. Joined by his friends, it will take all of Naruto’s courage to unravel the puzzle behind the castle and defeat this powerful new enemy. The biggest change to Phantom Fortress over the original Ultimate Ninja Heroes is the inclusion of a story, in the form of the Mugenjo Mode where Naruto and company traverse the dark and misty corridors of the mysterious phantom fortress. The game-play of the Mugenjo Mode harkens back to an old-school dungeon crawler, where you move your character icon from room to room, fighting battles and playing mini-games depending on what type of scroll you use to stabilize the space of the room. Essentially, you have the power to control what scenario plays out in each room. There are six different scrolls which activate varying game types, like running up the side of a tree while avoiding obstacles, following a series of button commands or answering Naruto-related questions. Besides Heroes Mode, which is just a series of team battles without a story, you can also take on a friend in wireless multi-player which comes with a Waiting Room, enabling up to 16 people who have the game in hand near the player to jump into matches continuously plus player can also send the data over for game sharing. It also supports game sharing for multiplayer action on two PSP systems with just one copy of the game. Besides that, an incredible variety of team configurations are available, and also over 20 NARUTO characters to choose from equipped with unique special techniques and brand new jutsu plus enhanced animation on 12 unique stages. The game also comes with a single UMD for wireless connectivity thus providing gamers to engage in 6 types of intense 2-player battles in different team combinations such as 1 versus 1, 1 versus 2, 1 versus 3, 2 versus 2, 2 versus 3, 3 versus 3, wirelessly via ad-hoc connection.
