Summary: I recently bought this game from the playstation network service on amazon and downloaded it. I made my profile and started off by browsing the cars. The cars are really detailed and impressive, there are all of the cars from MotorStorm Pacific Rift (of course with different variations) with the addition of two new arctic-themed cars, the snowmobile and the snow-plow, which by the way are awesome.
Unique racer that has gorgeous track designs and a great career mode, but is let down by a few very important aspects.

Summary: Let me start with the few things that should be the MOST important things in a racing or driving game: 1. A sense of speed 2. Vehicle handling that you can master and adds satisfaction to the game 3. Good and varied vehicle design 4. Good and varied track design Firstly, there are many things that Motorstorm on the PSP does right. The tracks are very well designed, with multiple routes suited to different types of vehicle.
Summary: Arctic Edge will be familiar territory for Motorstormers; a career mode (ie Festival) together with Wreckreation (time attack and online). AE is exactly what you want, a PSP version of the PS3 game. The graphics are very good though the small screen makes things a little frustrating at times (not seeing little rocks that make you crash), but overall a strong `on the go' game that many who like arcade racers will enjoy.
Summary: General racing: Very good graphics, It has a limited number of tracks but even though they are quite good tracks, as you work your way through the 8 different ranks many new vehicles, mini movies, and characters become availiable to you. The crashes are insane! 3 different vehicles in each class can be obtained by completing different events, which include Big Rigs, Motor bikes, Cars, Jeeps, Buggys, Snow machines and more!
Summary: Before this, i bought Gran Turismo and was bitterly disappointed. it just wasnt fun. i was hoping this wouldn't be the same but i needn't have worried. this game is excellent. you'll be playing for lots of hours too as the length of the game is pretty good. this is the first game i've played where there's alternative routes in every track so you can choose a different turning every time! pretty great in all areas i don't really have anything to complain about!
Excerpt: For a series that many saw as having its chief selling point intrinsically linked to its use of the PS3’s more advanced technology, the retreat of MotorStorm’s third outing to the PSP and PS2 formats was seen as something of a gamble. Developing Arctic Edge was a statement of commitment to these consoles from Sony, akin to a high-profile bargaining chip, as at the time of the games announcement, the Japanese giants were making fresh vows to support their ageing home...
Pros: Looks superb, great diversity of vehicles, online, lots of unlockables
Cons: One - player eventually gets excruciatingly tough, soundtrack
