Metal Slug Anthology

Digital Chumps
18 March 2008
  • Conclusion: Ultimately, how much you're going to like Metal Slug is reliant on two things; an appreciation for classic gameplay and toleration for the ridiculous amount of time necessary for Metal Slug Anthology to load said gameplay. Those who missed out the first time may get bored with getting their asses kicked (with limited credits) or kicking too much ass (unlimited credits), but those who are able to find a happy medium between the two should receive maximum enjoyment,...

Metal Slug Anthology

Defunct Games
8 March 2007
  • Summary: There are a lot of classic video game compilations already on the PSP and Metal Slug Anthology is one of the best. It offers seven of the best 2D action games of all time in one succinct package, that's a deal you shouldn't pass up ... no matter who you are! Tweet This product was submitted by the publisher for review. As a rule, Defunct Games does not review games we spent money on. However, that does not always apply to classic/retro games.

Metal Slug Anthology

Portable Review
27 February 2007
  • Excerpt: Ah, Metal Slug. Arguably SNK's most recognizable franchise. Who knew it would last ten long years of gun-firing, knife-slashing, tank-smashing action? Finally, after a decade of pure gaming bliss, all 7 of the classic arcade games in the Metal Slug series have finally been compiled into one awesome collection. Admittedly, there are kinks in the games' emulation, but all-in-all, it's a pretty decent collection overall.

Metal Slug Anthology

Defunct Games
16 January 2007
  • Summary: Metal Slug Anthology sets out to compile seven of the best 2D shooters ever released on the Neo Geo. For the most part it succeeds, but why they chose not to offer Classic Control support is anybody's guess! Tweet This product was submitted by the publisher for review. As a rule, Defunct Games does not review games we spent money on. However, that does not always apply to classic/retro games.

Metal Slug Anthology Review (PSP)

Yet Another Review Site
1 April 2007
  • Excerpt: Hardcore scrolling shooter that will take you back in time and have you chewing your PSP in frustration! Another month, another retro compilation. For the retro lovers like me this is a fantastic thing. However the question is, does the general gaming public really need another one? Well if it is a good as Metal Slug Anthology then the answer is a resounding yes!
  • Pros: Hardcore side scrolling shooting, 7 games in one
  • Cons: Looks dated and may be too difficult for many
