Summary: it's not for everyone, but fans of metal gear ought to love this re-telling of the story. the comic is beautiful, and i think the digital style makes that action flow a lot better than the actual graphic novels themselves. the puzzle-game elements are actually pretty interesting, as they unlock a kind of encyclopedia of metal gear lore.
Summary: As a die hard MGS fan I was interested in this novel. Its not available in NZ, and though i cannot buy PSP games from Amazon I was allowed to purchase this?? Go figure??!! Anyway... the controls are a bit clumsy...but the concept and artwork is beautifully executed. Searching for clues and reliving the original drama at Shadow Moses was fun. Pity the controls werent a bit better thought out. Only for the true MGS fan. Not a game as such!
Short, To-The-Point Reviews: Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel
Brettan D, Amazon
19 May 2007
Summary: The game is a "digital graphic novel." I knew what it was and what it was about when I bought it. It's the retelling of a great story with beautiful art, illustrated by Ashley Wood. The game is exactly what I expected.
Summary: Konami is typically at the forefront of amazing technology, in-depth gameplay and enriching game stories and dialogue, mostly thanks to the genious that is Hideo Kojima, the head of Konami's KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS and mastermind behind the METAL GEAR SOLID series. This isn't so much a game (as stated before) as an actual comic book.
Summary: This is the only thing better than actually going back and playing MGS1 all over again. That was the best game of its time! This is the best way to relive the game without needing rations or continues. Get this disc you are gonna love it!!
