Metal Gear Acid - PSP

  • Conclusion: There's been a lot of talk about the pocket-playable Metal Gear. To be frank, it's a love it or hate it title. If you dig Pokémon, Yugi-oh, or Magic you'll adore Metal Gear Acid. If you prefer shooting to shuffling, then this may be the Metal Gear you can do without. I'm giving it four stars, as I love it, and card battle games, in general. Make no mistake, if you are looking for traditional Metal Gear stealth-action, please look elsewhere, or be sorely disappointed.
  • Pros: Metal Gear Acid is the most original game on the PSP, A bold step to take the Metal Gear franchise in a new direction, The PSP desperately need a turn-based release title, The card based combat is deep and compelling, Metal Gear Acid offers tons of replay, Metal Gear Acid is the most original game on the PSP, A bold step to take the Metal Gear franchise in a new direction, The PSP desperately need a turn-based release title, The card based combat is deep and compellin...
  • Cons: Um, it's a card game. No really, a stealth-action card game... yeah, Metal Gear fans may find this unholy concept burns like acid, Um, it's a card game. No really, a stealth-action card game... yeah, Metal Gear fans may find this unholy concept burns like acid

  • Excerpt: Some things just go great together. Chocolate and peanut butter. Football and cheerleaders. Britney Spears and your television’s mute button. And now, with Konami’s “Metal Gear Acid,” we have a new pairing for the ages: 3rd-person stealth action and strategy card games.

  • Conclusion: The card battle experiment was a novel one, but the result is an unbalanced, unforgiving mess that will test your patience while you try to piece through a convoluted story. Strategy fans may dig it, but everyone else will do well to stay away.
