One of the best puzzle games on PSP

Richard Baker "BinaryMessiah", Amazon
29 March 2012
  • Summary: The Good: Bigger and better than the first, updated visual style is refreshing, accurate liquid physics, controls are responsive and fluid, many levels and rewards to unlock The Bad: Some sort of USB tilt sensor would have been nice. There's something about rolling a blob of mercury around that just makes things so fun and refreshing, and that's exactly what Meltdown is.

Great fun that taxes your PSP abilities

Kendahl "Kendahl J", Amazon

  • Summary: I discovered this game long after its release. I had never played Mercury, so it was a new experience for me. And a great one! I highly recommend you pick up this title, which offers a lot of bang for the buck. The game is very difficult and taxes your patience at times. But it makes solving levels that much more rewarding. Some levels I still feel are impossible, but it keeps me coming back to keep trying.

OK for a while

Josh Bronson, Amazon
5 November 2007
  • Summary: Interesting concept, but not enough to hold my interest. Goes from very easy to very difficult very quickly. I found myself just trying to solve the puzzles sitting there in the time alloted to complete the puzzle. By the end, it was impossible, I would play the same level over 50 times before giving up. However, the game was worth picking up, something different and smart. There is some replay value. Buying used is probably worth it.

Hard Game

Overstock
18 April 2007
  • Summary: This game seems easy in the beginning while your in the training mode, but once your ready to start your actual play it gets crazy hard!. It takes a while to get used to maneuvering your mercury blob. All-in-all it can be a fun game once you get used to it. Shipping was fast and packaging was great.

Mercury meltdown takes the formula from the original Mercury and improved the game play, add new elements, and created a new graphic engine based on cartoon like graphics!

great game, well executed, lots of levels, great fun!

M. Hofer, Amazon
16 January 2007
  • Summary: A great puzzle game and a big improvement over the first "Mercury". Many great levels, minigames. Even the way the level selection works is nice: The levels are represented as little test tubes, when you finish a level the amount of mercury left is shown in the tube. If you manage to save all the mercury, a cork closes the tube. If you also get all the specials and make the high-score, the cork is golden...

  • Summary: This game is awesome. Please not that at times you can get frustrated and want to chuck your psp against the wall. It provide a challenge for serious gamers but is easy enough for casual/new gamers. For south africans this game ships there for cheap. the fact that it has no english does not make it unplayable and text and instructions are not needed. If you look around you can get the playable demo. At this price why not go for it?
