Fun game, but make sure you have right firmware for it

zippy, Amazon
27 November 2012
  • Summary: I recently got back into playing my psp, and I remembered this being a fun game. And more importantly, a CHALLENGING game. (very hard to find in these "dumb everything down" casual gaming days!) So I decided to buy it...but when I got it in the mail and went to play it, I discovered that it couldn't be played on the 3.9 m33-3 firmware I was running. You need at least 6.31 to play this.

One of the best puzzle games on PSP

Richard Baker "BinaryMessiah", Amazon
29 March 2012
  • Summary: The Good: Bigger and better than the first, updated visual style is refreshing, accurate liquid physics, controls are responsive and fluid, many levels and rewards to unlock The Bad: Some sort of USB tilt sensor would have been nice. There's something about rolling a blob of mercury around that just makes things so fun and refreshing, and that's exactly what Meltdown is.

A Little Slow, but Excellent!

Kwing, Amazon
2 June 2011
  • Summary: I really like this game. The graphics are hypnotic and the animation looks incredible, and the graphics are also very sharp looking. The music for the original Mercury is bland and sounds like it's from a porno, but the techno beats from Meltdown are much better, memorable, and catchier. Archer Maclean's Mercury shows its prestige with its bastard-hard leaderboards and levels, although there are only 60 some, many of which go by very quickly.

  • Summary: A challenging puzzle game; as the stage and lab increases, it can really make you think how to get through the stage. This is one of the game that can last you longer if you like puzzle game.

Great fun that taxes your PSP abilities

Kendahl "Kendahl J", Amazon
10 July 2008
  • Summary: I discovered this game long after its release. I had never played Mercury, so it was a new experience for me. And a great one! I highly recommend you pick up this title, which offers a lot of bang for the buck. The game is very difficult and taxes your patience at times. But it makes solving levels that much more rewarding. Some levels I still feel are impossible, but it keeps me coming back to keep trying.

OK for a while

Josh Bronson, Amazon
5 November 2007
  • Summary: Interesting concept, but not enough to hold my interest. Goes from very easy to very difficult very quickly. I found myself just trying to solve the puzzles sitting there in the time alloted to complete the puzzle. By the end, it was impossible, I would play the same level over 50 times before giving up. However, the game was worth picking up, something different and smart. There is some replay value. Buying used is probably worth it.

Hard Game

Overstock
18 April 2007
  • Summary: This game seems easy in the beginning while your in the training mode, but once your ready to start your actual play it gets crazy hard!. It takes a while to get used to maneuvering your mercury blob. All-in-all it can be a fun game once you get used to it. Shipping was fast and packaging was great.
