Summary: The title should tell you how bad this game frustrated me. I saw the average rating on this game and thought, OMG, someone else could fall for that and have the same problem I am having. Here is how it goes: Oh, what a cool splash screen, the typical "It's in the game", followed by Mcnabb staring you down. And staring... And staring... So, you watch a few minutes of your favorite TV show (on another device), and then pause to start up a franchise.
Summary: This game is an ok game of football, especially for a handheld. My main complaints are: 1. The graphics aren't as good as other psp games i've played 2. The game occasionally gets stuck, but not as much as people have been saying and 3. Several features have been taken out such as instant replay and create a player. Bottom line: if you like football, than I would consider getting this, but if you aren't dying for it, I would wait for another football game.
Summary: This game is the best the PSP has to offer as of now. It's amazing that everyone is already talking about Madden 2007. Just to give you a spoiler, Shaun Alexander is on the cover of Madden 2007.
Summary: Madden Football 2006, well, you might want to get it on PS2. Sure, this is a good football game for a handheld but it is much better on a TV. For one thing, you cannot challenge plays, I hate that. The graphics are pretty good and it will entertain you when your not near a TV. Pretty good buy.
Summary: I think some people do not realize that the PSP is a portable device, and therefore, it's not going to have as much conect as a current-gen console due to hardware limitations (unless someone wanted to pay a lot more than $300 or so for a portable "console" like the PSP). This game is fun, keeps you entertained, and is rather easy to pickup, especially if you have played football games before.
Summary: The graphics are outstanding for the platform they are on, franchise mode is extremely involved, the gameplay is rather fun. The only knock I have on this game is that it is constantly freezing up! There is nothing more frustrating than getting to the third quarter of a game and having it freeze up on you. The game locks up and then the PSP shuts off, wasting alot of time.
Summary: Okay, honestly, if you are expecting a portable version of Madden to play that is at all equivalent to the console version you have at home, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! It is not even close to the Madden 2006 available for console gaming. The load times are attrociously horrible. I mean horrible. The graphics are like stepping back to the last PS1 version of Madden. Compared to other EA Sports games for the PSP like the 2006 NBA basketball game, Madden is nothing close.
