Would have been better if they just skipped a year!!!

Summary: The title should tell you how bad this game frustrated me. I saw the average rating on this game and thought, OMG, someone else could fall for that and have the same problem I am having. Here is how it goes: Oh, what a cool splash screen, the typical "It's in the game", followed by Mcnabb staring you down. And staring... And staring... So, you watch a few minutes of your favorite TV show (on another device), and then pause to start up a franchise.
If you love untested software this is a great game for you!

Summary: With EA's exclusive hold no the NFL license it was a shock that they released a Madden game on the PSP that underwent absolutely no QA testing. A shock in bizarro world anyway. EA did not let laggy play, long load times, sporadic crashing, flickering screens and non-existant online play stop them from releasing this craptacular excuse for a football game. If this game was a football team, then it would be a football team made up of 3rd grade girls.
Summary: The graphics are great... the gameplay is great... this is pretty much the console game packaged into a portable system. EA even added exclusive mini games that are addicting and fun. The loading times are bad, but so are all games for the PSP, so that doesn't affect my review. So why does Madden 2006 deserve a 1 star? Franchise mode just flat out doesn't work. After a few games on Franchise your PSP will randomly freeze and shut down while you are playing.
Summary: I bought my PSP at midnight on it's debut night at Wally World. I do love it to death but it's not quite a big success in my mind just yet. The future I believe will be awesome though for the PSP. With these game developers making games for the PSP,PS2,and PS3, I understand they have alot on their plate. But this is Bull$**t! I love Madden football and I was just waiting and waiting for this game to come out.
More bugs in a day than in all other games for a year

Summary: Essentially, that's the review. I have eight other games and only one of them has ever crashed the system on me. Madden does it regularly. Now I can cope with the annoying bugs mentioned all over the place, and the slow load times, and frequent pauses, becasue when it works, it's great.
Summary: Everyone has reviewed this game expressing the shut-down bug. I will attest to it as well. It's terrible. I have already returned the game. My local store bent their rules and accepted the game back for a refund. Lucky for me or I would have been stuck with a terrible game. The potential for this game was great it just failed to deliver. I would consider picking it up again if the bug is fixed. Madden for PS2 this year is terrific.
Summary: This game is an ok game of football, especially for a handheld. My main complaints are: 1. The graphics aren't as good as other psp games i've played 2. The game occasionally gets stuck, but not as much as people have been saying and 3. Several features have been taken out such as instant replay and create a player. Bottom line: if you like football, than I would consider getting this, but if you aren't dying for it, I would wait for another football game.
Summary: This game is the best the PSP has to offer as of now. It's amazing that everyone is already talking about Madden 2007. Just to give you a spoiler, Shaun Alexander is on the cover of Madden 2007.
Summary: Madden Football 2006, well, you might want to get it on PS2. Sure, this is a good football game for a handheld but it is much better on a TV. For one thing, you cannot challenge plays, I hate that. The graphics are pretty good and it will entertain you when your not near a TV. Pretty good buy.
Summary: I think some people do not realize that the PSP is a portable device, and therefore, it's not going to have as much conect as a current-gen console due to hardware limitations (unless someone wanted to pay a lot more than $300 or so for a portable "console" like the PSP). This game is fun, keeps you entertained, and is rather easy to pickup, especially if you have played football games before.
