One of the few 'wuxia' videogames

B. Redwood, amazon.co.uk
21 November 2012
  • Summary: Chinese fantasy swordplay or wuxia (literal translation: 'martial hero') is a genre that as of yet has not been well-represented in videogames. Key of Heaven is set in the land of Ouka, which is inspired by various Asian cultures from Japan to China and beyond, and is a land remincient of wuxia themes such as swordplay, chivalry, adventure and magics.

A nice addition to any PSP collection

I. Sleeckx, amazon.co.uk

  • Summary: First of all, don't let the box of this game guide you. It doesn't look very attractive, rather cheap really, and to me it's a mystery why they picked this image to 'sell' their game. The cover of the booklet looks so much nicer, as does the inlay art. Also I don't really like the European release title. In the US the game was released as 'Kingdom of Paradise', I don't see why this had to be changed. Key of Heaven is an action RPG.

Not for me, but fans of the genre will likely love it!

  • Excerpt: This review is for the PSP game "Key of Heaven". I'll mention right at the beginning that other reviewers on other sites appear to really like this game, but I personally found it quite shallow. The basic plot is that you control the character Shinbu, and he has to go round the game-map in this 3D role-playing game. He meets lots of other characters who he has to inter-act with to find out more information about where to go next.

Incredible

Luke, amazon.co.uk

  • Summary: Before I begin, a short description of this game would be: Your PSP Collection Is Incomplete Without It. When this game arrived in the post, as soon as I looked at the cover I judged this game as a cheesy hack-and-slash made only to add another game to the already large PSP pile. But how wrong I was ... You control a character called Shinbu, who in his childhood was kicked out of his clan for looking at an ancient monument.

Brilliant

  • Summary: The game is a well thought of game but i found it a tiny bit easy ( i never died ) maybe that was just me. But its very fun and enjoying to play and took me 20 hours to complete and them 20 hours was brilliant and enjoying. I would say if your looking for but a rpg i would say this is the best one out on the psp and the only 3D one aswell.

Pretty Good, but quite easy

DJAJ, amazon.co.uk
4 June 2006
  • Summary: First of all, this game is actually quite a good game, because you get to create your own bugei scroll (Your moves basically). But it is quite an easy game, i got it and then completed it within 2 weeks but those 2 weeks of that game was quite good. The reason is that its quite easy is because all the enemies are weak, even the last boss only took me 2 tries before i utterly smashed him.

Very promising

  • Summary: This is much, much better than the frankly poor first-wave RPGs that came out with the PSP. It's very pretty, in proper 3D with nicely chunky combat based around an engaging system under which attacks are pre-prepared using icons that you collect as you travel around - sort of a Pokemon with combat moves rather than creatures.

Pleasure

Mr. M. K. Keylock "Mikky K", amazon.co.uk

  • Summary: A great looking game with real depth in terms of story line and gameplay. Being able to customize your own attacks using free style is really impressive addition and takes the genre to another level as opposed to following suit and being another worn out rpg. A definate addition to anyones psp collection.
