... I was expecting the same style game as Daxter, was slightly disappointed...

Nelson Faler, Amazon
25 December 2013
  • Summary: ... It turned out more like Size Matters in the Ratchet & Clank series! {I would have liked to see more game play from the Daxter character! And I'm sure that may show up in later levels!}

A great looking game with major flaws

Richard Baker "BinaryMessiah", Amazon
28 March 2012
  • Summary: The Good: Looks great, big, lots of powers, fun mini games, lots of upgrades The Bad: Repetitive, hard, feels old Ahhh...good `ol Jak & Daxter are back at it again in their first return since Jak 3 in 2004. Lost Frontier is a great addition to the series and has a lot to offer.

Fun, but Only Just

Otty, Amazon
1 January 2011
  • Summary: After an extremely long wait for a new entry to the "Jak and Daxter" series, finally "The Lost Frontier" arrives in 2009. However, there are too many problems with this game that prevent it from holding a candle to the other games in the series.

Meh

xrayhearing, Amazon
30 June 2010
  • Summary: I was very reluctant to believe the mediocre reviews this game received since 1) I LOVED Daxter on the PSP, 2) I liked the PS2 Jak & Daxter Games, 3) I like High Impact's Ratchet & Clank game, 4) I generally love platforming action-adventure type games, and 5) I'm always excited when a promising...

Doesn't live up to the quality of previous Jak & Daxter titles

Amazon Customer "Signatures are onerous.", Amazon
13 December 2009
  • Summary: What happened here? This Jak & Daxter game for the PSP was developed by High Impact Games, the same developer who created the two awesome Ratchet and Clank games for the PSP. But something went amiss with The Lost Frontier.

Jak & Daxter fan

Emilie "E.C.", Amazon
16 November 2009
  • Summary: I have been waiting for this game for quite a while. I was hoping for the game to be on PS3 with great graphics like Ratchet and Clank. Then when I found out that Naughty Dog was not producing this game I had a feeling the game would not be as good and I was right.

Lord Of The Fliers

tom1clare, Ciao
6 August 2010
  • Excerpt: Certain parts of the press were eager to put Jak and Daxter out to pasture with The Lost Frontier, as disinterested reviews appeared to signal the end of the series time as a big-hitter.
  • Pros: Superb flying sections, the platform bits feature more platforming than before, variety
  • Cons: Minor control issues, checkpoints can be a pain, 12 hour lifespan maybe a bit slim for some

"Ok a little disappointed"

Kylie, Mighty Ape
7 April 2010
  • Summary: This game is OK, the graphics are pretty good, but the story line isn't. It could have been much better. I usually love the jak and daxter series so this is a bit of a let down.

"It's new game that's not part of the Jak and Daxter franchise."

Blake, Mighty Ape
7 April 2010
  • Summary: Naughtydog, I wish you made this game. High impact games did a very poor job matching the other Jak and Daxter games. The main character look completely wrong. On the brightside if you try not to think of it as a Jak and Daxter game the gameplay is fun, graphics are superb for the psp.
