Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures

  • Excerpt: There’s something loveable about Lego games. I wasn’t even a Lego fan as a kid, but seeing characters and moments from films play out as if performed by a group of seven-year-olds is something special. Although many might claim that this is simply Lego Star Wars in new skin, everybody will find something enjoyable about it.

Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier

  • Excerpt: Even though Naughty Dog may be more concerned with new franchises, that hasn’t stopped High Impact Games, responsible for Secret Agent Clank and the PS2 port of Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters , from taking it upon themselves to continue the Jak and Daxter franchise Naughty Dog created back on the PlayStation 2. If there’s anything the PSP could use, it’s a good platformer, and the Jak franchise seemed like the perfect candidate.

  • Conclusion: I hate to say it, but this is not a good game. Not in a "for a Jak game" sense, but in the most all-encompassing way I can mean it. To see this franchise fall so far after redeeming itself with Jak 3 hurts. Big time.

  • Conclusion: If we’re being overly harsh, its mainly because we expected and hoped for more – the series has a great heritage and developer High Impact Games have already produced some solid efforts for the PSP (namely Secret Agent Clank and Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters). However, ’solid’ is about the highest praise that can be laid on The Lost Frontier; it’s competent but lacking finesse and falls some way short of ‘must-have’ status.

Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier
