Play Station doesn't work in an Xbox 360
9 January 2011
Summary: Nope! It didn't meet my expectations, because it doesn't work in an Xbox 360. When I ordered it, I must've misunderstood that it was for a Play Station? Oh well, I gave it to my sister-in-law to sell.
Summary: The video clips and other reviews are for the PS3 and XBox versions of this game. The PSP version is an anemic watered down boring hastily created version of the game. The developers really took a snooze on this one. While the game was mildly entertaining for a few hours, the graphics are very mediocre and the playability is lame. Don't get me wrong, IL-2 for the PC is one of my favorite flight sims to this day. Ace Combat X, IMHO, blows way IL-2 for the PSP.
Summary: Got this for xmas and I was a fan of IL 2 for pc. But this isn't by Maddox, they've obviously just licenced the brand and its pants. For flight sim fans, don't waste your money, and if you're an IL2 grognard from the PC version this is a serious let-down. Simplistic, 3 levels of 'so called' realism and a single toggle for changing the controls.
Summary: Way too small a game. Sure there are about 20 missions but they take 10 minutes each and there is no variation at all in target positioning. Once you've done all the missions you can go and do them again in any of the aircraft, but that's the extent of the replay value. Controls are overly simplistic - you can't roll inverted at all. You never land or take off and you can carry way too much ordnance.
