Summary: Parents need to know that Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip is a family-friendly tennis game featuring memorable cartoony characters. The story mode has a positive message about healthy competition, while ad hoc local area network play promotes social gaming interaction. The action is fairly accessible, though it is at times surprisingly challenging, which could frustrate younger players.
Excerpt: Well now you might just get to see it in action. In its simplest terms, Hot Shots Tennis is a cutesy mix of Virtua Tennis gameplay and Pokémon -esque RPG story, exploration, character acquisition and leveling. Excerpt: I’m a pretty big fan of the Hot Shots Golf games. I’ve never played the original tennis game Clap Hanz made, but with the pedigree of their previous efforts, I was looking forward to giving Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip a try. While the game is certainly fun, it lacks the addictive nature of its console counterparts.
