A WarioWare rip-off with a "hip" vibe

Richard Baker "BinaryMessiah", Amazon
29 March 2012
  • Summary: The Good: 200+ mini games, good sense of style, multiplayer is a plus, downloadable content The Bad: Gets old fast, everything feelings like a sample instead of a game I played Hot PXL back when it came out in Europe and I have to say it felt a lot like Wario Ware but with its own sense of style. While some of the games are more grotesque and leaned toward teens and adults the game is still fun for a while.

  • Summary: I've played the Hot Pixel demo on a PSP and I liked it. It definitely made me want to buy the game and I think it's worth it.

Games are fun, transitions are not

Brian "Adrenaline", Amazon
26 April 2008
  • Summary: The actual mini games in Hot Pixel are pretty good. However, in between games there are often lame video clips and useless animations that take away from the gameplay. I think Atari actually tried too hard on the presentation and hurt themselves in the process. You can unlock games to be played at your own pace, "Xtras", which track high scores and justify a $10 price tag by themselves. Also, you can download 70 more minigames from the following website: [...

WarioWare Much?

P. Webb "Trajedi", Amazon
7 October 2007
  • Summary: A microgame package w/200 some games, funky(in a bad way kind of )graphics, and forced weird "adult" humour make this feel and play like the dumbed down and sleazy version of a WWare game. Made by Atari the game does have high points when TEMPEST, ZAXXON, LUNAR LANDER and other aracade classics are given a turn in the mix but these retro segments are all to brief, and before you know it its back to more "zany" movies of the supposed lead character of the alleged story...

Mini-game Madness

G. Ward "Sotto Voce", amazon.co.uk
8 October 2010
  • Summary: This is a title that really shouldn't be judged by its cover. I picked this up today, for a little less than £5, and it's provided plenty of laughs on my commute home. The games are 'themed' into levels and are descibed as 'street style' (whatever that's supposed to mean?) Let's be straight, this is sort of a 'Wario Ware' for the PSP, but with slightly less innovative and without the 'sparkle' and polish that comes with a 'fun' Nintendo title.

  • Conclusion: a cool little game for when your on the bus and you simply have time to kill, otherwise the whole game is over very fast not leaving much need to play again unless a friend grabs a copy.

A great game for a quick fix

ssharple2001, Play.com
5 April 2008
  • Conclusion: This game makes a nice change for the PSP. It's got quickfire minigames that mean you can just pick up and play for as long or short as you like - great for those long roadwork traffic light changes in the car;) It can get a bit tedious if you're looking for a good gaming session so i'd make sure it's not the first game you buy.

an absolute corker

barryborris, Play.com
5 April 2008
  • Conclusion: I got this game for christmas today and it's brilliant. Reading the manufacturer's review it sounds a bit 'This game has no meaning' and well its just really addictive good stuff. There are loads of levels an in each level there are loads more mini levels. all the levels sort of test your awareness and analog stick moving skills, sort of like a nintendo ds game stylie. Because there are 200+ 'games' you will never ever get bored.
