Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law

Playstation Illustrated
14 February 2008
  • Excerpt: Animation makes for great game translations. 2D is naturally less taxing than 3D, so it's no surprise that Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law looks great on PSP. You'll swear you're watching an episode of Harvey Birdman as you play the game. In fact, you are... The major characters from the show all make appearances and will even talk on screen as you watch the moving pictures.

PSX Extreme

  • Excerpt: You may have heard about a little series on the Nintendo DS called Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. It's an enormously popular wave of games published by Capcom for Nintendo's platforms, and their entire premise is precisely as the game title indicates: advocating. You are an attorney, and through a series of events, the goal here is to prove your case by putting to use evidence you've collected and testimony you've heard.

Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law (PSP)

Crispy Gamer

  • Excerpt: There are two mistakes game developers make when doing a videogame based on a TV show. The first is to try and make it for gamers instead of just for fans of the show, and the second is to try and recreate the action of the show in videogame form instead of taking a videogame form that works and adapting the show to it. Thankfully, the good people of High Voltage Software have avoided both sins with Capcom?

  • Excerpt: Can playing an episode be fun?
  • Pros: • Captures the wham-bam humor of the show very well., • So casual, it feels as easy as just... well, watching the show on TV.
  • Cons: • Lack of any real gameplay means your paying 40 dollars to watch a show that’s usually free., • Some of the voice acting isn’t up to par with the show., • Way, way too short.

Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law Review

GamerNode
19 January 2008
  • Excerpt: There comes a time in everyone’s gaming career when they are compelled to sit down and play a throwback adventure game about a superhero-gone-civilian attorney who constantly ends up accepting cases to which he has some sort of intimate connection. For me, that time is today, and that game is Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law for the PSP.

Ha Haaaa.... Easy!

TotalPlayStation.com
19 January 2008
  • Conclusion: A very, very solid and semi-interactive version of the cartoon, Harvey Birdman may be as inept in court as the game's namesake, but all of the humor and interesting takes on classic characters come through just fine.

Who is the man in the suit?

Game Revolution
18 January 2008
  • Conclusion: Why it’s none other than Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law . If you’re familiar with the late-night program block on Cartoon Network know as [adult swim] than you’re probably a 14-35 year-old stoner who stays in on Sunday nights to watch cartoons. Just like me and all of my friends. That’s a good thing, because if this game was your first introduction to Harvey and pals, you would have ended up hating him and his wacky courtroom antics.
  • Pros: Decent animation, Same humor as the show
  • Cons: Which alienates anyone who doesn’t watch the show, Lack of interaction, Very, very short, Pricey for the amount of content
