Loved it so much it prompted a historical investigation

Summary: I thoroughly enjoyed this game. Though I can see where it wouldn't be for some people. It's long and a lot of readin but it honestly made me love the characters. Plus the fact that it's (slightly) based on actual events made me interested in knowing who these characters really were and the history of the Shinsengumi.
Summary: Visual novels are a niche market, yes, but the success of Hakouki has proven to be a successful game here on Amazon. I love visual novels but there isn't much content out there for the American market. This game is a step in the right direction. Fascinating characters (Love Hijikata and Saito), great storyline with amazing historical detail, and moments that had me laughing! It's a typical otome game, and I like that.
Summary: Basically if you like otome games, this is one of the only English released ones out there. It's a visual novel for PSP, which means there's no RPG screen, it's just like reading a "Choose Your Own Adventure" novel. The choices you make will effect the story, ending, and which CGs you unlock. Demon of the Fleeting Blossom is the first game in the Hakuouki series so you should start with this, unless you've seen the anime.
