Summary: Gun Showdown could have been a disastrous port of a so-so action game, but it ends up being a surprisingly solid game full of fun missions, crazy firefights and some cool extra goodies. This specific product, however, came straight from a PR guy for the purposes of being reviewed!
Excerpt: Last year Activision and Neversoft brought us GUN, an action packed Wild West third-person shooter. While it wasn't all it was made out to be, it delivered a solid slice of entertainment for its rather short duration. Now PSP owners can get a piece of the action, in a tweaked version of the game.
Excerpt: If you're just dying to play a western-themed action game on the PSP, then you probably don't even need to read this review - just go buy GUN Showdown, Activision's enhanced port of last year's hit. It's got some good action and plenty of western style, and the story and voice acting are excellent.

Unfortunately, like most action ports that make it to the PSP, control issues really hold back GUN Showdown .
Excerpt: We started these Mini-Reviews a while back as a means to condense down a bunch of information into a simple, quick read. Given that I can't seem to write a review that's under a thousand words, however, it's not really "mini" so much as "smaller". Now, finally, I can do something that's truly tiny, because in nearly every respect Even that sounds like a cop-out (and, well, I'm a lazy bastard, so I'm sure in a way it is), but there's no getting around the fact that...
Conclusion: Gun Showdown is a game that manages to take the original game and transitions it into a very nice package on the PSP. Although the controls just weren’t as fluid as they were on the consoles, it was good to see that they could take a console game and actually make it even deeper on a handheld. If you liked Gun and want to take it on the road, you’re going to really enjoy Gun Showdown for the PSP.
