Featuring many of the characters and motorcycles from the comic book and movie, Ghost Rider will engage gamers in an immersive, supernatural world with a blend of hand-to-hand combat and high-speed motorcycle action. It has authentic comic storyline that was penned by Marvel writers Garth Ennis and Jimmy Palmiotti.
The PSP version of the Ghost Rider offers new levels, bosses and game-play including Wi-Fi multiplayer and motorcycle death-match for up to 4 players. It also has a Challenge Mode (also playable with four players) where player can select specific rider, each of whom has a different set of speed and attack statistics, and also features six race tracks for player to select from. The game is easy to learn even for beginners with an estimated learning curve time of up to 15 minutes. The game offers fast paced action, combo based combat against multiple enemies using Ghost Rider’s trademark of Hellfire Chain and Hellfire Shotgun. It also provides adrenaline fuelled motorbike action for player to ride on the terrifying Hell Cycle, swing the Hellfire Chain at enemies and use the bike’s powers such as ride on water, boost over jumps and power down under obstacles. The game also enables player to upgrade and improve the Hell Cycle and Hellfire Chain, plus new moves and statistic increases using the essence of defeated enemies as currency. The game comes with diverse scenery where player can ride through varied locations from the movie including the Quentin Carnival and Caretaker’s Graveyard plus also taking a ride down the sky scraper that links Earth to the depths of Hell. Besides possessing superhuman strength, speed and durability, Ghost Rider can use the Penance Stare which can force criminals to experience a level of emotional pain equivalent to that which they have caused in others. It is rated as Teen by ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) with detail descriptions of blood and gore, violence and mild. The Ghost Rider is developed by Climax (the experienced team behind cutting-edge games like ATV Off-road Fury 3, the MotoGP: Ultimate Racing Technology series and Sudeki, plus it has a product dimension of 3 pounds (1.4kg) in weights.

Thankfully, the biggest redeeming factor in this version is the unlockables. You can still barrel your way through the single-player game with the ever-exploitable Flaming Slide attack, unlocking the comic books to read on the go. Overall, when stacked next to its PS2 counterpart, the PSP version of Ghost Rider is on very weak legs. Read more
However, I found I was having fun while on foot. Sure the game steals ideas from the best of the genre, has bland graphics, and a main character who desperately needs an ice pack and a throat sweet, but it's enjoyable enough while it lasts - which isn't very long. Ghost Rider is a solid game that offers some decent action, but unless you must play as Ghost Rider you'll be better off checking out one of the many, better alternatives. Read more
Movie- and comic book-based games are prone to suffering from unattainable expectations of fans that know the material, but Ghost Rider for PSP doesn't even aspire to meet basic association. In fact, the only thing Ghost Rider does with any consistency is illustrate what's wrong with movie-based games publishing in the first place. Read more
