Full Auto 2: Battlelines

Playstation Illustrated
12 September 2007
  • Excerpt: The genre of combat racing hasn't seen many updates in a while, but for some reason it still manages to be very popular. The wanton destruction of property must be a factor. The fact that road rage doesn't pay in real life may also play a role. When I think about the last combat racing game I really loved, I think back to the launch title for PSP, Wip3out Pure , that is still in my drawer and in rotation from time to time.

PSX Extreme
30 April 2007
  • Excerpt: Sega seems to be keen on turning Full Auto into a flagship series for the company. Though, of course, before a series can become a flagship, it actually has to be good. Alas, Full Auto 1 and 2 haven't exactly been unanimously accepted on either Xbox 360 or PS3. Car combat hasn't been a fledging genre, altogether, lately. With Twisted Metal missing in action, there's an enormous void to fill, and nothing is capable of filling that void, especially not Full Auto.

  • Excerpt: Balancing quality with quantity is no doubt difficult when it comes to creating videogames -- assuming one even tries. Sega's Full Auto 2: Battlelines for PSP seems to bog down with the quantity, then neglects to balance it with anything resembling quality.

Full Auto 2: Battlelines Review

GamerNode
2 April 2007
  • Excerpt: Right off the bat, this game is a decently enjoyable racing/shooting hybrid. The graphics are fairly good, some of the licensed music tracks are pretty awesome when you notice them, and the racing mechanics are more arcade-style than realistic. Whatever, it gets the job done. If you like racing combat, you’ll be modestly satisfied for a short period of time and that’s all that matters. Let’s talk about something else, though. The story.

Full Auto 2: Battlelines

GameTrailers
10 January 2007
  • Excerpt: The first Full Auto was released 10 months ago, during the 360’s infancy. It scavenged the best features of current-gen games, namely Burnout’s temperamental tendency for things going boom and the Prince of Persia’s spatial appetite for time. Throw in some guns and the promise of destructible environments and there you have it--a next-gen racing game, and one which was completely average. Now Full Auto 2: Battlelines arrives in a similar predicament for the PS3.

TRON: Evolution - Battle Grids

GamingMedia.de
3 February 2011
